Damian Cudlin signs with BikeBiz - February, 2001

Click To Enlarge Damian's HeadHi Guys,

Well, first I'll let you all in on the news. I finally signed a deal for 2001. I'll be riding for Bikebiz Yamaha alongside Tony Rees.

I'll be racing both the Australian Production SuperBike and Formula Xtreme aboard an R1 Yamaha.

It's a pity it's taken so long to get to this point because there hasn't been much time to test the bikes. I've ridden the Bikebiz Yamaha once already, and it seems to have heaps more grunt than my old R1, so I'm looking forward to the first round.

I'm pretty confident with the Bikebiz team as they are a pretty good bunch of guys, I'm also looking forward to learning a lot off Tony Rees. He's a very experienced rider and very fast. He also seems to stay on a lot............which is something I've got to work on!

I hope I can do well this year, not only for myself, but for Bike Biz, who have given me this opportunity. I'm really happy with the package that Bikebiz gave me, and I would like to thank Yamaha as well for their support.

Frank Pons from BikeTek will be doing the suspension for the team. He's got heaps of experience with grand prix teams, and I really like the way he sets the bike up for me.

Monza Imports are supporting me again this year, and I'm glad Motul have come on board with the team, I have been sponsored by them since I was a junior. I'd like to thank Dean Evans from Link International for all his assistance as well.

The first round of the Formula Xtreme is this Sunday at Eastern Creek. The grid is packed in the Formula Xtreme class, and there are also a lot of new guys entering for the first time. It should be really good racing for spectators, so if you can make it, try to get there.

By the way, I'll be selling my 2000 R1 race bike in March, so if anyone is interested, give me a call 0n 02 65522546. The bike is obviously a race bike and would suit someone who wants to get into the Superbike class.

See you later

Damian
