TULK LOOKS SET TO TAKE ANOTHER WA SUPERBIKE TITLE

Going into Round 4 of the five round State Championships on Sunday August 6th, last year's Championship winner looks set to take another round win making it a perfect score so far this year. Honda Fireblade rider Scott Tulk, riding for Rick Gill Motorcycles, leads the Shell Advance WA Superbike Class by 57 points.

Veteran Rick Gill retains his second position in the championship 168pts, the only rider who has come close to putting pressure on Tulk, just ahead of Stuart Adams who has been riding the wheels off a gremlin plagued 750 Yamaha this season to hold down 3rd position currently on 137pts from Bimota rider Gordon Proschka.

The battle for SuperSport supremacy rages between current championship leader Daniel Stauffer (Yamaha YZF600) just three points ahead of last year's winner Sam Reynolds (Suzuki GSXR600) who has a slight edge over Kalgoorlie based Brad Fletcher.  Stauffer sits on 175pts, Reynolds 172, Fletcher 129 and Michael Quante on 116pts from Barry Depassey on 114pts.

A very wet Round 3 turned the tide in the Swann Insurance 250 Production Championship races with RGV rider Darren Peach taking full advantage of the conditions to take three class wins from three starts over Wayne Smith. 125GP rider Peter Taplin continued on his winning way dominating all three races.

In the Sidecar class a challenge has emerged from past multiple state champion Murray Stronach and passenger Jero Joyce with their new Suzuki 1192cc motor starting to perform well, putting pressure on championship leaders Rob Hair and Chris Burrows, with third placed Graeme Studd and passenger Ian Girvan still in with a title chance. Stronach and Joyce won two of the three heats at the last round, only loosing out in the final lap of the final race due to leg cramp restricting gear change.

Sunday's racing gets underway with practice from 9 - 11am and the first race at 12 noon.

General Admission is $12 for adults, Pit Paddock $2, Children 15yrs & under are FREE.
