British SuperSport 2000 - Knockhill
Round 8 of 12

Four times American Champion Tom Kipp scorched to a fine 8th place aboard the Demon Vimto Honda VTR SP1 on his debut in the British Superbike Championship in front of a 20,000 crowd at Knockhill in Scotland on the weekend.

The 30-year-old from Chardon, Ohio overcame the damp and difficult conditions in race one to bring the kitted Superbike home ahead of some of the series regulars.

"I got some dirt on my visor and couldn't see where I was going! I was happy with the bike and the set up was good" said Kipp prior to following up with 14th place in the dry of race two.

The major success of the weekend however was Jim Moodie taking the win from Australia's Dean Thomas.  Steve Brogan in 3rd and Glen Richards (AUS) 4th and Chris Vermeulen (AUS) 6th with yet another Aussie, Kirk McCarthy in 7th.

McCarthy - "I’ve surrendered a lot of Championship points to Jim Moodie which isn’t good but I’m glad to finish. It’s not been the best of weekends for me" said the rider from Mickleham, Victoria.  With just four rounds remaining McCarthy lies in second position in the Championship.
