British Superbike Championship Preview - Round 9/10 - Snetterton
| It's been a few weeks since the last round
of the MB4U.com British Superbike Championship, but GSE Racing has been as busy as ever.
Since the last round of the series at Oulton Park, the team has been over to Italy for the
World Ducati Weekend - a global festival of the celebrated Italian marque. "The World Ducati Weekend was great fun," said Niall Mackenzie. "It was a huge gathering of all the Ducati owners' clubs at the Misano Circuit and the team was glad to be part of the celebrations. GSE Racing has also been present at the SED plant and machinery show with HM Plant, one of our sponsors. "I made a lot of progress on the INS Ducati at Oulton Park and although the team hasn't tested at Snetterton this year, Neil Hodgson informs me that it is a great Ducati circuit. It's also one of my favourites and as top speed is a factor, I know that it will suit our bikes." GSE Racing's Neil Hodgson is relishing the chance of returning to the 1.95-mile circuit where he narrowly missed a double podium last year. Hodgson is currently second in the points and is hungry for success at the Norfolk circuit: "Snetterton is without doubt my favourite track, ever since I won there in 1992 on a 125. When we tested there last year, it was my first time out on a Superbike, but I was on lap record pace within six laps. Our race engine builder, Stewart Johnstone, has been working hard tuning the engines to extract some extra speed and horsepower and the three-hour practice session on Friday will allow us to see the results. That said, Snetterton circuit suits the INS Ducati perfectly, there is a gear for every corner and as long as the bike is fast and I'm good on the brakes, I should be right up there in both races." |
