GSE Racing to join World SuperBike

GSE Racing has confirmed it's entry to the final round of the Superbike World Championship at Brands Hatch on 13-15 October. It will be the British Superbike Championship squad's third assault on this year's series with rider Neil Hodgson already having taken two wins on-board the INS Ducati.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be returning to World Superbike duty at Brands Hatch," said the 26-year-old Burnley rider, whose wild card victories at Brands Hatch and Donington this year have made headlines worldwide. "The fans always make it a very special occasion and I'm delighted that we can do it for them. You can bet I'll be going all-out for the triple."

Team manager Colin Wright echoed Hodgson's feelings: "Our performances at Donington Park and Brands Hatch have shown just how far the team has come and also how competitive the INS Ducatis are against full factory opposition. GSE Racing can be proud of our achievements so far this year in both the British and World Championships and returning to Brands will, I hope, give us a chance to end the season on a real high."

The INS Ducati team, winners of the Riders, Teams/Sponsors and Manufacturers Championships in the 1999 British Superbike series, is intending to make a permanent move to the World Championship next year, as confirmed by Team Principle, Darrell Healey: "GSE Racing's intention to make a full-time switch to World Superbikes in 2001 has been well documented recently. We have
already shown our ability to compete at the highest level and this is another opportunity for our team, sponsors and, of course, Neil Hodgson to prove yet again that we can take on, and beat the best in the world
."

GSE Racing will be announcing their 2001 plans very soon. However, the focus is for now on the final two rounds of the British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit this weekend and Donington Park National Circuit in a fortnight's time.
