the American Honda RC51? First year in SuperBike on a brand new
bike and the package nearly managed to displace Mladin for the
championship. Nicky only finished 5 points behind Mladin in the
championship and will go racing with Honda again next year with AMA
SuperSport Champion, Kurtis Roberts joining Du Hamel as his team-mate
to make a 3-rider Honda campaign for 2001. Suzuki will be
developing the new GSX-R next year with Mladin, Yates & Hacking as
the riders.

racing a Ducati in the Buell Pro Thunder Series. Craig Connell was a star in the Australian Superbike Series, but his team
did not enter the Aussie series this year. The 32-year-old rider from Brisbane thought his racing career might be finished, but then he got the call to come to America to race for Advance Motorsports Ducati in the Buell Pro Thunder Series. Connell answered the call and won in his AMA racing debut at Brainerd. After early leaders Shawn Higbee and Mike Smith fell by the wayside with bike problems, Connell was left standing alone in the lead and motored to a convincing 13-second victory over defending champ Shawn Conrad.

Buckmaster came 2nd in today's 750 SuperSport race after blistering

a Yamaha R1 Australia's Steve Martin came 5th in today's Formula
Xtreme race. The event was won by Kurtis Roberts aboard a CBR
929 Fireblade.
