• News - We reported last week that Chris Walker looked to have turned his back on his apparently settled World SuperBike deal in favour of a 500 ride with Shell Advance Honda.  Britain's Motorcycle Consumer News has reported this week that Chris put pen to paper on Monday and sealed the contract. 
• Testing - Criville injured his hand during testing. 
• News - It has been reported that Chris Walker has gone back on the handshake deal to move to World SuperBike with his British Suzuki team and instead has agreed terms with Repsol Honda for a 500 next year.

• News - Garry McCoy was riding a Yamaha R7 around the Twin Ring circuit at Motegi (Japan) on Monday & Tuesday to learn his way around the track in preparation for the Twin Ring GP round.  Garry was not allowed to ride his YZR 500 at the circuit as it is not one of the two test tracks that Yamaha nominated at the beginning of the season.

• News - McCoy has signed on with Red Bull Yamaha for another 2 years.  It is rumoured that the front running 250 Chesterfield Yamaha Team will make the step up to 500s next year with Jacque and Nakano, which basically means that Yamaha is pulling out of 250 GP.  Another rumour is that Okada will be leaving the GP series at the end of the year to go back to Japanese SuperBike.  Tohru Ukawa is likely to take that seat.  Aoki's seat at Suzuki is pretty much definitely going with Gibernau or Checa tipped to sit on the RGV500 next year with Roberts.

Although the world championship is not going as we all expected, I'm very proud of how much trust both Honda and Repsol YPF as main sponsor have had in me for next year. I've been racing with HRC since 1994, just a year before Repsol arrived and since then, we've always been on very good terms. We've had a few good performances and achieved a 500cc world championship title together, so I'm going to stay here with them and keep fighting for the best results".
