Fogarty Update
Friday 4 May 2000

Carl Fogarty was visited by Prof. Andrew Carr yesterday in Oxford, (England).

Ten days after the operation to the humerus bone of his broken left arm at Alfred Hospital, Melbourne (Australia), the period of recovery for the British rider appears to be longer than expected.

Doctors who visited Fogarty yesterday estimate from 8-12 weeks before a complete recovery. A return to racing for Britain's four-time world champion can now therefore only be expected for the start of July, in time for the ninth round of the World Superbike Championship at Laguna Seca (USA).

Carl Fogarty has again confirmed his intention to return to racing as soon as possible, especially in view of the round at Brands Hatch, where record crowds flock to see him, and Assen, one of his favourite circuits, where Carl expects to win again this year.
