Ben Bostrom

Ben Bostrom is a young American rider who, together with reigning world champion Carl Fogarty will race for the Ducati Infostrada Superbike team this year.

Ben made his name in American Dirt Track before switching to road-racing in 1995.

Born in Redding (California) on 7 May 1974, he began his professional career in 1992. He rode a bike for the first time at the age of 4 and took part in his first race at the age of 8, continuing a family tradition. Ben is in fact the son of a former rider and his two brothers Eric and Tony are also professional racers.

AMA American Superbike champion in 1998, he switched to the Ducati 996 of the American Vance & Hines team in 1999 and came within a whisker of taking the title for the second successive year. (Aussie Mat Mladin took the title) Bostrom won the second race of the World Superbike round at Laguna Seca after being entered as a ‘wild-card’ rider (Gobert came won the first race).

Ben commenced the 2000 season with Ducati Corse but after some lack-lustre performances was demoted to the NCR team.  Ben had a stronger end to the year which saw him end 2000 with a 7th place in the championship.

Ben is back in the full Ducati Corse squad for 2001

He lives at Granada Hills (California) and is engaged to Lee Ann. His training regime consists of motocross, dirt track and gym while his favourite sports are snowboard, dirt bikes and golf.

Ben Bostrom is 1.74 metres tall and weighs 71kgs.
