got the jump off the line and convincingly led them around the first lap
but on the 2nd time around they received the red flag as one of the riders
had fell exiting the Yokohama bridge. Bairdy got the best run from the re-start from Stauffer, Aitchison 3rd. Attard had ran away with Stauffer before the re-start but had some work to do in order to regain some ground from the 5th position he held down from the first laps of the re-start. Attard picked up speed though to be the fastest man on the circuit and work his way up past Stauffer by lap 9. Attard continued on and by lap 10 he was only 2 tenths of a second behind race leader Robbie Baird. As they received the last lap board Attard was right behind Baird with Stauffer a little further behind in 3rd but being threatened by Aitchison. As they went through Yokohama bridge Baird still had the upper hand but Attard closed up on him on the way in to Yamaha Bend but Bairdy got the best drive out and went on to win the race. 1. Baird |
