| On the Almeria circuit in the deep southern part of Spain, Ten Kate Honda tested on 14 and 15 February with their Supersport and Superstock riders. The main goal was testing the new Honda bikes, Pirelli tires, White power Suspension and several brake parts.
The weather was very unstable, the first two days it was sunny and about 19 C and the days we needed for testing it started to rain and temperature dropped to about 10 C. Despite these cold and wet circumstances, the test went very well for all the riders.
Pere Riba, fastest lap time 1m41.4 - "We made a good test on the Honda CBR 600FS. We tested a lot with the White Power suspension and we worked step by step in the good direction. The mechanics did a very good job for me and I'm very happy with them and of course with the whole Ten Kate Honda Team. ''I'm looking forward to do the first race in Valencia''.
Fabien Foret, fastest lap time 1m41.8 - "This test was better than the first test on the Almeria circuit. It's coming step by step a little bit better. I'm very happy with the new Honda CBR 600FS. The lap times were not really impressive but that's due to the bad weather and the track-conditions. Besides this, the Flammini test in Valencia on 18 and 19 February is for me more important because there we'll be among all other competitors. I'm really looking forward to be on the track with all our next year's opponents."
Shannon Johnson, fastest lap time 1m42.7 - "This was for me the first test on the Ten Kate Honda Fireblade next to this the Almeria circuit was also totally new for me. The first day I was a little bit disappointed because we could hardly test because of the rainshowers. But we had enough work to do at the Honda Fireblade, so we worked a lot on the suspension. The second day we only started around midday, but the bike was now almost completely matching my demands. I have a good feeling about the bike and the team and I can't wait to start at the first round at Valencia."
Kyro Verstraeten, fastest lap time
1m44.5 - "The first day went pretty O.K. form me, we worked very precisely and accurate to make the bike work better. The second day didn't bring me much track-time, because of a crash early in the midday. My mechanics worked hard to get the bike going again, but we lost a lot of valuable time. My general feeling is however good, because we're working in the good direction with this bike. Of course I would have liked to be closer to the time of Shannon, but I will have to live with this. I'm feeling pretty confident for the first race."
