Formula Xtreme 2001 - Round 3 - Quotes

Alex Gobert - Round winner - "The Redwing HRC Fireblade handled unreal today in the wet and was also good during the weekend in the dry.  We need to work on top speed a little before the next round.  The Michelins were great and gave me the confidence and feel to do what I need to come out on top today.  I felt completely comfortable all weekend and am really pleased that we have now got the Honda working the way I like."

Craig Coxhell - 2nd - “I am disappointed with falling on the final corner of the last lap in race 2 as that cost me the round win but am very happy with my two 2nd places in this afternoons wet races as I am not normally too great in the wet. And of course the win in race 1 was great. I have closed right up on the points leader in the championship this weekend so it has been very productive from that point of view. I am still kicking myself for that fall in race 2 though, a few drops of rain on that part of the circuit was enough to throw me down on the road while wearing slicks."

Tony Rees - 3rd - "I blew it in that last one, basically all I had to do was finish and I would have won the round, but oh well shit happens I suppose.  Those conditions were a bit of a lottery.  On the positive side of the coin we showed that the BikeBiz Yamaha can hang with the Radar's boys in the dry so that is a positive sign for our bikes development.  Just disappointed that I threw it away in that last one."

Damian Cudlin - 4th - "I stayed up all day and was near the front so at least I have that part of the equation down pat now.  Now I have to find that fine line of balance between not falling down and pushing too hard.  I suppose that will come with experience.  I am confident that if I keep progressing as I am now thought then I am definitely on the right track to get to where I want to go."
