Formula Xtreme 2001 - Round 3 - Qualifying Quotes

Craig Coxhell - Pole - “I’ve been concentrating very hard for the past week and a half about getting my head back together after the results that I had at the last round of Formula Xtreme at Oran Park and in Perth at the Australian championship round, I came here feeling very positive about what I had to do this weekend to get my season back on track. We had a few little things to sort through during yesterday’s free practice and they all came good for today. I feel confident that I can go a bit quicker again tomorrow, possibly high 10’s or low 11’s.”

Robbie Baird - 2nd - “Pole position would have been nice, but I’m happy to be that close to Craig ’s time, there’s nothing in it but tomorrow is when it counts. The Yamaha felt good out there today, so I think we will be in for some good racing.”

Alex Gobert - 3rd - "We have the Redwing Honda working better this weekend than we have ever had it before.  It feels really good which means I can ride hard into the corners as I like which of course translates into a better top speed down the straight.  The bike is hooking up and driving great, and really sticking at the front also. I couldn't be happier really."

Tony Rees - 4th - "Luckily we got 4 good laps in during the first qualifying session as the bike has been playing up ever since.  Electrical problems seem to be the problem so hopefully we can get them sorted before the races.  So it was disappointing to be left with the time from 1st qualifying but hopefully it sorts itself out when it gets hots tomorrow."

Jamie Stauffer - 5th - “I’ve found it difficult to find the right set up I need for around here, I have slides with both the front end and the rear, so we will be making some changes overnight to see if we can get that cured."

Damian Cudlin - 7th - "We tried a different set-up in 2nd qualifying with some gear changes and a few other little things but it just didn't work out for us.  The front brake went away after around 5 laps which didn't help things at all, the lever was coming right back to the bar.  We will make a few changes tonight and I am confident that I can go much quicker in tomorrow's races."
