Denso to sponsor Australian SuperSport Support Races at Australian GP

Automotive products manufacturer Denso is a new addition to the sponsor line-up for the 2001 Qantas Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Denso International Australia will sponsor the Australian SuperSport support class at the 2001 Australian Grand Prix.

The Denso SuperSports will have a 20-minute practice session at the Grand Prix circuit on the afternoon of Thursday, October 11, with a 20-minute qualifying session later that day, and there will be eight-lap Denso SuperSports races on the afternoons of Friday, October 12, and Saturday, October 13.

Denso is among the top automotive component manufacturers worldwide. It's extensive range includes spark plugs, with Denso leading the way with advances such as the U-groove and long-life platinum and iridium plugs. It manufactures high-performance plugs with the world's smallest iridium centre electrode of 0.4mm.

Among riders who sing the praises of Denso spark plugs are Japanese racing greats Masao Azuma and Noboru (Nobby) Ueda, who between them have won three of the four 125cc races since the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix returned to Phillip Island in 1997.
