Abe, Nakano, Capirossi is the top 3 in to the first turn, Rossi gets sent wide and has to stand it up. Nakano through on Capirossi a couple of corners later for the lead. Nakano, Capirossi, Barros, Abe, Roberts, Gibernau is the race order on the 2nd lap. Rossi outside the top 10. Capirossi the fastest man on the circuit. Abe back to 6th. Roberts in the dirt. Nakano back to 3rd. Barros in the dirt. So now we have Capirossi in the lead still, Nakano 2nd. Rossi through on Ukawa down the main straight for 4th. Gibernau 3rd. Gibernau now up to 2nd in an impressive showing. Rossi through on Nakano for 3rd. Capirossi. Gibernau, Rossi is the top 3 and Gibernau is starting to threaten Capirossi for the lead. This could come down to a Gibernau/Rossi battle in the later laps. 19 laps to run. Capirossi, Gibernau, Rossi, Nakano, Ukawa, Abe, Biaggi, Criville. Funny how Gibernau seems to be running up the front here at his home GP. Rossi through on Gibernau on 2nd with 15 laps to run. Capirossi, Rossi, Gibernau, Nakano, Ukawa, Biaggi the race order. Rossi through on Capirossi for the lead and immediately pulls a few bike lengths with 13 laps to run. Haga 4 seconds behind in 8th. Gibernau in a huge block pass underneath Capirossi for 2nd. Valentino has run away with it now, Gibernau 2nd, Capirossi 3rd and Biaggi running faster and faster, right on the back of Capirossi now. He will be 2nd within the next few laps I would think. Biaggi into 3rd now and right up Capirossi's tailpipe with 7 laps to run. A lap later Max goes through, he has his work cut out for him now though as Rossi leads by 4 seconds.
