Donohoe went into the last round with a 19 point lead over reigning
champion Scott Tulk but Donohoe experienced mechanical troubles, which saw
Tulk emerge from round 3 with a 2 point lead. But Stuart Adams proved
unstoppable by taking all 3 races on the day from Brad Fletcher, Tulk and
Donohoe. Adams is still 43 points short of equaling Tulk's points lead,
but is still in with a chance to take a long awaited title. Alan Watts,
Steve Mitchell and Malcolm Nanovich all hold minor placings in the top
ten. Consistency is paying dividends in the Clubman Series. Wayne Smith has increased his lead after three rounds to 30 points. Danny Abrey, last year’s Sunday Times Best 1st Year rider is still in striking distance of taking the Series win. Paul Nathan is third, followed by Brad Davey, Rory Reibel and Adrian Mettam. Strett Cull took three convincing wins at round 3 to take the SuperSport lead from Russell Nash. Michael Quante scored a 2nd and two 3rds. These three riders have entertained spectators all year with some close racing and today ‘s performance will prove vital going into the final round in October. Fourth place holder Darren Peach has put in a consistent run all year and could still finish in the top three. First year riders Craig Humphrey, Paul Magill and Kim Rutherford continue to perform well and score minor placing points with Robert Brittain sidelined this round with a broken collarbone after crashing out over skyline last meeting. The three heats of the 250 Production / 125GP races produced some of the best racing last round. With the absence of Peter Taplin (who was riding interstate) a consistently improving Paul Elliott scored three wins from three starts in the class, moving him into a 29 point lead in the 125 GP class from Taplin and one point down Craig Frederickson with first year riders Mark Rankine and Jason Harper putting in consistent performances also. After a slow start in round 1 Chris Taylor is reducing the lead of Steward Landers in the 250cc Production class. Landers holds a 12 point lead over Taylor with Greg McCoy still a threat on both 1st and 2nd place getters. Practice starts at 9am with the first race at 11:45am. $12 for adults, children under 15 free. Current Championship Standings Shell Advance WA
