World SuperBike - Valencia Testing - Suzuki Report & Images
| Team Suzuki Alstare Superbike riders Pierfrancesco Chili and Stephane Chambon spent the final day of testing at Valencia learning the limits of their new GSX-R750 race bikes.
With all-new machines to ride, both the riders and the team are working flat-out to learn about the handling and power characteristics of the bikes. All are unanimous in the bike's potential and are working to bring that out in time for the first race next month. On the final day of testing at Valencia, both riders suffered from minor set-up problems and a crash each to dent any chances of making an impression on the fastest lap times. Both riders were unhurt and are keen to get back on their bikes in preparation of the coming season. Pierfrancesco Chili 15th, 1:37.229 - "For me these tests were not so good. Yesterday we had some problems and today we tried to fix them, but I don't think we did. And for me, that's disappointing. Now we have to sit down with the telemetry and analyze the data before looking for the solutions. I'm unhappy because I also had a crash today. Exiting one of the left-handers, the rear suddenly gripped and I was highsided. I am sure we can work out these problems and be back in the right direction soon and that's what I am looking forward to." Stephane Chambon 11th, 1:36.882 - "We had quite a few minor problems and we were unable to solve them here at the track. We'll take all the information we gathered back to base and see if we can identify the problems. Once we do that, we can solve them. I guess it is all part of learning about the new GSX-R750." |
