back and read about race 1...
Can Tamada clear out again? Tamada got a bad start again, Bostrom gets the jump again but Corser doesn't manage to sneak under him this time so Bostrom is our race leader. Izutsu gets under him a few corners later, Serizawa 3rd, Corser 4th. Tamada through on Corser for 4th as they start lap 2. Neil Hodgson right behind Corser. Serizawa through on Bostrom for 2nd. Izutsu has a good lead over Serizawa already, Kawasaki 1 and 2, Bostrom still in 3rd, for now... Bayliss 15th, Parkes 20th, Martin 22nd. Tamada under Bostrom for 3rd. As they start lap 3 - Izutsu, Serizawa, Tamada , Bostrom, Corser, Ito, Hodgson, Chili, Yanagawa, Ryo, Edwards ,Kagayama, Laconi, Yoshikawa, Bayliss. Not too many changes on the lap but Tamada was the fastest man on the circuit with a 1m29.5 which is a new lap record. Corser hunting Bostrom now, surely it is only a matter of time. The 3 Japanese men out front, Izutsu, Serizawa and Tamada have over 3 seconds on the battle for 4th place that is being waged between Bostrom and Corser, Ito is also joining the fray. Ito under Corser into Horseback, this is what Troy does not need, it has allowed Bostrom to escape a little and Corser always does best with a clear track. If he gets stuck in this traffic I can't see him making much progress from here. Tamada through on Serizawa for 2nd and instantly challenging Izutsu for the lead. Ito through on Bostrom for 4th. Lap 8 of 25 - Izutsu, Tamada, Serizawa, Ito, Bostrom, Corser, Hodgson, Chili, Ryo, Yanagawa. The main reason for a lot of the championship regulars are out of the top ten is due to the fact that they run Michelins while all the fast men here today are on Dunlops.... Izutsu is still managing to hold out Tamada but it looks as though the Honda rider is just biding his time and unwilling to take any risks when he obviously does not have to. He will wait and see where there is a completely safe opportunity, do it, then promptly clear off into the distance. Edwards is back in 13th. Corser is 5th and if he finishes in that position or higher he will leave here with a great points lead, roughly around 25 points over Bayliss, and 45 over Edwards. Tamada finally took Izutsu with 10 laps to go and promptly cleared out. Izutsu and Serizawa a second or so over Tamada's team-mate Ito, maybe that is why Tamada held out so long before taking the Kawasakis, to allow his Honda team-mate to catch the Kawasakis....... Ito through on Serizawa at the end of lap 18 but out-braked himself and off into the dirt and sand for a while but somehow kept it together and only lost several places. So Tamada miles out in front now with two Japanese Kawasaki men the pursuers. Bostrom in 4th, Corser 5th and Hodgson 6th. Bostrom has a small gap over Corser but Troy has Hodgson right on his tail with 5 laps to go. Can Corser put a charge on and maybe catch Bostrom for 4th...... 4 laps to run - Tamada, Izutsu, Serizawa, Bostrom, Corser, Hodgson, Chili, Ito, Ryo, Kagayama, Lavilla, Yanagawa, Okada, Edwards, Laconi, Toseland. Hodgson through on Corser for 5th and out after Bostrom, he has 3 laps to try and do it. Way back in the field we have Toseland and Bayliss battling for 16th position! Ryo through on Ito for 8th with 2 laps to run and catching Chili. Lavilla into the tyre wall but unhurt. Tamada starts his final lap and has really done it so easy here this weekend, nobody has shown speed anywhere near his. Let's hope we see the 25-year-old on the world stage sometime soon. He does a half decent victory wheelie and takes it easily.
