Hodgson leads them into turn 1 for the first time but Bostrom quickly gets him in the turn, then Colin Edwards also went through on Hodgson and took 2nd. Corser 4th, Eric Bostrom 5th, Troy Bayliss 6th.

Hodgson through on Corser for 3rd. The race is only for 2nd and 3rd at this stage as Ben Bostrom has well and truly cleared out. Hodgson through on Edwards for 2nd but then drifts wide which allows Edwards back through, then Corser got both of them to shoot up into 2nd.

Eric Bostrom under Edwards for 4th. Bayliss 6th. Steve Martin 12th, Peter Goddard 14th and Broc Parkes 15th.

Corser reeling Bostrom in a little by a couple of tenths per lap, the gap down from 2.5 seconds to 1.8 seconds but over the next few laps Bostrom upped the pace again and held the gap to Corser. Neil Hodgson a few seconds behind Corser in 3rd. Eric Bostrom 4th, Colin Edwards 5th and Troy Bayliss 6th.

Bayliss got through on Edwards for 5th. Ben Bostrom now has 3 seconds over Corser. Bayliss through on Eric Bostrom for 4th but the battle for 3rd is happening some 17 seconds behind the race leader.

Young James Toseland closing up on the back of Edwards and will be challenging for 6th shortly.
