Scott Charlton led Shannon Johnson off the line and through turn 1, Jamie Stauffer also right with them.  Shannon took the lead on lap 2 and started to build a gap over Charlton and Stauffer.

Jamie Stauffer took 2nd place from Charlton on lap 3 and tried to put the hammer down and chase Johnson but the Honda rider had pulled a full second on his pursuers while they battled for 2nd place.

Jamie Stauffer closed the gap to Johnson down to 8-tenths of a second during lap 4 and 5 but could get no closer.  Scott Charlton was still a strong 3rd place but by lap 6 was on his own as Johnson and Stauffer had cleared out to the tune of 6 seconds.

Further down the field Shaun Geronomi, Cameron Donald, Brent George and Reece Bancell were having a titanic battle for 4th place.

Johnson took the win, his 2nd for the weekend, by 7-tenths of a second  over Jamie Stauffer.
