Coote started from pole but Dustin Goldsmith slotted underneath him in
turn 1 to take the lead while Paul Simonson and Glenn Allerton battled
over 3rd. Coote started to challenge Goldsmith for the lead on lap 2 and tried to make a move in to turn on lap 3 but had his nose well and truly cut off by Goldsmith which lost Coote some ground. Coote did manage to make it to the lead as they started lap 5. Allerton got through on Simonson for 3rd and also caught on to the back of Goldsmith. A lap later Brent George started to close on Paul Simonson for 4th. Glen Kelleher fell around the back of the circuit but mounted up again and rejoined. (Click here for crash sequence) Allerton got 2nd from Goldsmith a couple of laps later but Goldsmith got him back on lap 8. Jordan Coote had escaped out in front to the tune of 1.7 seconds and went on to take the win.
