| Shawn
Giles had an uncharacteristic fall in race 1 and will be out to make
amends in race 2 but it was Jamie Stauffer who got the jump off the line
and led them through turn 1. Josh Brookes started out aggressive and
got past Gilesy also on lap 1. At the end of Falken straight for the
first time both Josh Brookes and Shawn Giles went through on Jamie. Gilesy took the lead off Brookes on the run to the main straight on lap 2 and commenced lap 3 with the lead. Daniel Stauffer started his charge and slotted under Brookes for 2nd at the end of Dunlop Straight. Shawn Giles recorded a 1m24.39 on lap 4 in an effort to break Daniel Stauffer off his tail but Dan is hanging in and also ran a very quick time, under the old lap record with a 1m24.41. Then in an amazing show of consistent speed Shawn backed it up with another 1m24.39! By lap 6 Giles had pulled out a second on Daniel Stauffer who in turn had made a second over the 3rd placed Josh Brookes. Giles recorded a 1m24.26 on that lap. The top 3 all running under the old lap record. Alistair Maxwell went down out of the hairpin again, but this time on lap 8. Josh Brookes got through on Daniel Stauffer after Dan recorded a lap 1 second slower than his normal pace while Josh put in a 1m24.46, but Giles has escaped to the tune of 2 seconds. Stephen Tozer also started to hassle Jamie Stauffer for 4th. Giles took the win from Josh Brookes with the Bio-Magnetics boys 3rd and 4th.
