Shawn Giles got the jump off the line well from the Stauffer brothers and Josh Brookes, Giles recording a 1m28 lap from a standing start. Daniel Stauffer got on to the back of Gilesy on lap 3 as the top 4 settled down to 1m24 lap times. Josh Brookes was the fastest man on lap 3 with a 1m24.15 and worked his way up to 3rd on lap 4. He had then had a big moment running on to the old start/finish straight and lost his 3rd place again. Daniel Stauffer started showing a wheel to Shawn Giles on lap 5. Josh got his 3rd place back around the back of the circuit on lap 6 while Dan Stauffer slotted through on Gilesy for the lead. Two distinct groups, Dan Stauffer and Shawn Giles fighting for the lead while Josh Brookes and Jamie Stauffer battled over 3rd. Jamie Stauffer had a bad lap on his 8th time around and allowed Brookes to escape a little. But Daniel Stauffer pulled a gap of a few tenths out of Shawn Giles and had built a half-second buffer by lap 11. Jamie Stauffer got his 2nd wind late in the race to close up and then get through on Brookes for 3rd. The Michelins seem to be hanging in better over a full race distance than the Dunlops. Shawn Giles had to settle for 2nd and finished the race 2.6 seconds down on Daniel Stauffer.
