but also get a personally autographed poster. Shawn Giles - #1 - Suzuki GSX-R1000 - Current Superbike Championship leader Shawn Giles will be looking to secure his third consecutive Superbike title. Giles riding the GSX-R1000 Suzuki has not only been fastest qualifier at all previous rounds but has taken 8 of the 15 race wins to lead the Championship by 47 points from his nearest rival. Shawn has not raced the GSX-R 1000 at Eastern Creek before as it is two years since the Australian Championship visited Eastern Creek. Josh Brookes - #25 - Honda CBR 954 - After winning the 2001 Supersport Championship young Josh Brookes moved up to the SuperBike class this year. Brookes is the only rider close enough to be a mathematical chance to beat Giles for the Championship but Giles has a formidable lead which will be all but impossible for Brookes to surmount. Nevertheless the Bringelly local will put in one of his hard charging performance at a circuit he likes. Brookes holds the FX lap record at Eastern Creek and on current form will go in to the round as the hot favourite for the win, but Jamie Stauffer may have something to say about that also... Shannon Johnson - #42 - Honda CBR 600 - Current Supersport Championship leader, this 22 year old Victorian rider is a force to be reckoned with. Son of legendary Superbike Champion Andrew Johnson, Shannon has proved that he is a talented rider in his own right and looks forward to building his own legend in Australian motorcycle racing. Shannon is sure to life the Australian SuperSport Championship at Eastern Creek on Sunday. So get out to Actions Parramatta on Thursday night to meet the boys and get a signed poster, one or more of them could be a world champion one day...... |
