Russell Holland started
slowly in fourth position but it only took the young Sydney rider a couple
of laps before he hit the lead and immediately started pulling a gap on
his pursuers. Mark Stanley and Peter Taplin battled hard for second
place but it was Taplin who got that second place in the end.
Holland dominated the race and took an easy win by over 5 seconds. Holland went in to the race six points behind WA's Peter Taplin but this race win saw Holland take the lead by 3 points. The Championship will come down to the wire in Sunday's final race for the year but on current form one would expect Holland to lift the title, unless any mechanical dramas rob him of his chances.
