Formula Xtreme 2002 - Round 2 - Winton - Twins/BEARS/F1/SOS

Mike Soderland got off the line well on lap one of the 6 lap and very wet race but John Lyons led the charge out of the chicane. Soderland then ran off the track on the inside slow right-hander. Lyons romped away from there and led by over 6 seconds at the end of lap 1, 2nd placed rider Craig McMartin at the end of lap 1. McMartin closed 3 seconds on Lyons during lap 2. Rob Carrall was 3rd from Dave Fuller and Geoff Jones. As they commenced lap 4 McMartin had the gap to Lyons down to only 1 second and was closing fast. Dave Fuller had slotted past Rob Carrall for 4th, Geoff Jones 5th, Peter Hinton 6th. McMartin took the lead on that lap and immediately pulled out a second ono John Lyons. As they got the last lap board McMartin had now pulled a gap of 3.6 seconds on Lyons while further back Carrall had got his 3rd place back from Dave Fuller. McMartin took the win by 4.2 seconds over Lyons.
