It looked as though
Josh Forster got a lot of wheelspin on the wet start line and the fast
getaways were from the guys on the 2nd row. After they sorted
themselves out during lap 1 David Anthony led them across the line to
start lap 2 from Brent George and Paul Simonson. David Anthony
held the lead and started the 3rd lap with half a second over Brent
George who was basically side by side with Caleb Stalder and Paul
Simonson. Stalder put in a fast on to take the lead with a little
over 3 laps to run, the lap time a 1m55.035 on a still very wet but
slowly drying track. David Anthony in 2nd at this half race
distance and Brent George 3rd. The next lap around Brent George
took David Anthony for 2nd and set a new fastest lap of the race with a
1m54.556, 3-tenths quicker than race leader Caleb Stalder but at this
stage he had a 1.7 second gap over George. Brent George must have
come down somewhere on the penultimate lap as when Stalder received the
last lap board the next placed man was John Allen, some 4.6 seconds
behind him. David Anthony was in 3rd, from Paul Simonson and
Dustin Goldsmith. Stalder took the win by 3.1 seconds over John
Allen
