The Bio-Magnetic Sport boys got the better of Kevin Curtain in the first leg. The Stauffers running Michelins got the better of the Dunlop shod Stauffer boys but Radar's Team Yamaha and Dunlop would have put their heads together to try and ensure that it would not happen again. Jamie Stauffer got the best run off the line but Kevin Curtain tried to take him in turn but could not make it stick, Robbie Baird third. Daniel Stauffer and Wayne Maxwell battling for fourth and Daniel ran in a little wide and lost some ground. As they started lap two Jamie Stauffer still led from Kevin Curtain, Robbie Baird third, Dan Stauffer fourth. Craig Coxhell had moved up in to fifth from Nick Barton and Wayne Maxwell. But on lap three Wayne Maxwell got through on Nick Barton, Nick tried to get him back but ran off the track, he managed to rejoin only losing a few seconds in the process. Tony Rees used all of this to work his way up in to 7th, Josh Brookes was recovering from a terrible start and was holding down eighth at half race distance. Kevin Curtain was hanging on to the back of Jamie for this race and showed him a wheel on lap 4. Daniel Stauffer also moved past Robbie Baird for third spot. Jamie Stauffer and Kevin Curtain well out in front, while the battle for third is waged over 2 seconds behind them, the protagonists Dan Stauffer and Robbie Baird. Coxhell a little further back in fifth while Josh Brookes had managed to work his way back up to sixth spot, a brave and tremendous effort. Kevin Curtain took the lead on lap 6, the top four all running in the 1m10s bracket. Jamie Stauffer had bike problems from there on in and was easily overhauled by his brother Daniel, then by a whole heap more riders. A terrible blow but his brother still waving the Bio-Magnetics flag. As they got the last lap board Curtain had 4 seconds on Daniel Stauffer, Robbie Baird a little further back in third. Jamie Stauffer entered in to the pits, then dismounted as his bike caught fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and hopefully the Bio-Magnetic Sport boys are not left with too much work to do in order to get the bike back on track. What is it with these boys and fire! Their bikes and transporter went up in flames causing six figures worth of damage, hopefully their luck gets better from here on in. The problem was caused by a flat battery would you believe, a couple of the injectors shut down and the problems compounded from there. Curtain went on to take the clear win.
