Kevin Curtain got a shocking start while Jamie Stauffer and Russell Holland got away out in front.  Rattenbury then went in to the air fence quite hard and took a while to get up.  The red flag came out and the race was stopped.

Rattenbury went in to what would have been a hard wall but the air fence broke his impact enough to prevent serious injury.

On the re-start Jamie Stauffer immediately pulled a lead over Russell Holland.  Kevin Curtain got a better start and was in third by the start of lap 2.  Cameron Donald 4th, Deon Coote 5th.

Kevin Curtain took a few laps to move past Holland, meanwhile Stauffer had escaped to the tune of 3 seconds.
