Shaun Geronomi got a great run off the line but Kevin Curtain had the lead by turn 2, Shannon Johnson moved up in to 2nd, Scott Charlton 3rd, Deon Coote 4th and Geronomi got shuffled back to 5th.

Shannon Johnson took the lead from Kevin Curtain in to turn 1 at the start of lap 2, Scott Charlton still with them in 3rd.  Cameron Donald recovered from an average start to work his way through to 4th by lap 3.

Simon Rattenbury and Jamie Stauffer then got past Donald, the battle for 4th going on well behind the leaders.

The battle for the lead was down to a two-way fight by the closing laps.  Shannon Johnson and Kevin Curtain with a big advantage over the third placed Scott Charlton.

Kevin Curtain slipped under the inside around the back of the circuit on the final lap but Shannon got him right back on the change of direction.

Johnson takes the win.
