The third round of the fiercely contested Maxxis European Supermotard Championship takes place this coming weekend; 8th and 9th June around the streets of Mettet in Belgium.

This unique and famous track is a crowd favourite and with a favorable weather forecast this weekend, it’s sure to be a massive event.

Mettet is in the Namur province of Belgium and is situated 90Km South of Brussels and 25Km South of Charleroi.

The Mettet street circuit, which is very popular with spectators, hosted a round of the Maxxis European Supermotard Championship 2 years ago. It is Supermotard’s version of the Isle of Man TT Races, where spectators can get very close to the action.

The weekend has a full supporting show, including “knock out” formula supermotard and quad bike support races.

After a brilliant outing in Venray last weekend, Thierry Van Den Bosch will be looking to increase his championship lead over arch-rival Boris Chambon. VDB will need all his skill and determination to stay ahead on this ultra fast track and both men have won here before.

Leading Belgian riders Eddy Seel, Gérald Delepine, Eric Delannoy and Frédéric Fiorentino will want to do well at their home event and Mettet sees the welcome return of top Swiss riders Marcel Gotz and Dany Muller and a reaction of METTET’s specialists, Jurgen KUNZEL and Klaus Kinigadner is also expected !
