Honda UK rider Karl Muggeridge was one of the 14 riders who didn’t finish the 28-lap race at Oschersleben in Germany. Muggas and the team worked hard over the last three days and in the warm-up it finally looked as though they had found some pretty good setting for the CBR. The Australian didn’t get a very good start and lost two positions, but climbed from 10th place on the opening lap to as high as fifth place before high siding in turn 2 on lap 11. A disappointed Muggas said, "I was having breaking problems since the second lap and had to be really careful not to run into other riders. On lap 11 I overshot the first corner a bit, and then wanted to flip it into the next one when the rear came around and shot me right up in the air. It was pretty big, and I’m beat up a bit, banged my head, hurt my right knee and both ankles. So I will have a few quiet days before driving up to Assen on Wednesday and I’m sure I’ll be ok for a good run there next weekend. It would be nice to finish the season off with two podiums after such a tough year.” Honda's Fabien Foret is still leading the Championship but his lead was reduced to three points after making a mistake during the race which pushed him further down the field. Italian Paolo Casoli took his first win of the season and moved up to 5th place in the championship.
