Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra riders Stephane Chambon and Katsuaki Fujiwara took second and third places respectively at Oschersleben in a thrilling race that saw the lead change hands many times during the 28-lapper.

The duo lapped amongst the leaders for the entire race before Chambon was pipped to the post by just eight hundredths of a second at the finishing line.

Team-mate Fujiwara finished just behind Chambon in third place - his fourth podium finish in the last four races.

Fujiwara currently lies in second position in the Championship table only three points behind first place. Chambon is only ten points further back in third place.

The race today was won by Casoli (Yamaha).

STEPHANE CHAMBON 2nd - "That was a hard race for me, because towards the end my injured shoulder began giving me trouble. If I had been 100% fit, then I think I could've got past Casoli and taken the victory, but I didn't have to the strength to do it. It was close though and if he had made a mistake I would've had the win. Unfortunately Foret got back onboard after his crash and took sixth place otherwise Katsuaki would be leading the championship and I'd be much closer. But there's fifty points still up for grabs, so anything can happen in the next two rounds."

KATSUAKI FUJIWARA 3rd - "I'm happy to get another podium, but I was lucky to finish! Towards the end of the race, I was nearly highsided a few times, so I had to ease the pace and give up my attack on first place. I'm only three points behind Foret now, so it's going to be a lot of fun in Assen and Imola."
