Honda Rider Karl Muggeridge finished 17th fastest in the first
Qualifying session for round three of the World Supersport championship
here at Kyalami circuit in South Africa on an altitude of 1465 meters. Muggas believes he can improve dramatically on his best lap time in tomorrow’s final qualifying session here at the 2.65-mile circuit on the outskirts of Johannesburg. “It’s my first time at Kyalami,” said Muggeridge. “So I’ve spent a lot of today just getting a feel for the circuit. I really like the track and now we’ve had a day of practice we can look at the improvements we can make to the bike.” “The machine isn’t that far away from a good set-up and the engine feels pretty good, but it’s hard to tell since I haven’t really been close to any other riders to compare plus it’s also a bit difficult because of the power loss at altitude here.” Suzuki Alstare’s Stephan Chambon led the way and showed his track knowledge in today’s opening qualifying session. The Yamaha Belgarda team took second and third and champion-ship leader Andrew Pitt completes the provisional front row.
