Bayliss controlled
race 1, can he do it again......... Bayliss and Haga both got off the line well but Troy Bayliss led them through turn 1 once again. Haga 2nd, Bostrom 3rd, Edwards 4th, Hodgson 5th. Haga got through on Bayliss for the lead in turn 4, Bostrom also through a couple of corners later. The track is much warmer for this 2nd race so Haga and Bostrom may have to watch the wear on their Dunlops. Bostrom through to the lead and keeps that position. Chili has a stop/go penalty. Haga the fastest man on lap 3 and takes Bostrom for the lead early in lap 4 before re-setting the lap record on the same lap. Haga and Bostrom have pulled out a second on 3rd placed Bayliss. Ben Bostrom ran in too hot which let Haga escape a little and Bayliss to catch right up with the American. Ruben Xaus crashed out on lap 8. Lap 9 of 23 and Haga still leading from Bostrom and Bayliss. Edwards a little further back in 4th, followed by Hodgson a further few seconds behind. Steve Martin in 11th. Lavilla out with technical problems. Lap 11 of 23 - 1.Haga, 2.Bostrom, 3.Bayliss, 4.Edwards, 5.Hodgson, 6.Izutsu, 7.Walker, 8.Borja, 9.Martin, 10.Borciani. Edwards slowly closing on the leading trio. Bostrom through on Haga at the end of the main straight, but Haga got him back in turn 2. Bayliss under Bostrom on the inside but ran wide which let Bostrom right back through. This battle at the front has allowed Edwards to catch right on to the back of them. Two Dunlop men up front, closely followed by two Michelin men. Bayliss through on Bostrom for 2nd and trying to close down Haga. Right on his tail now, can he make a pass, I am sure he can, the question is can he make it stick.... Chili didn't come in for his stop & go so received a black flag. Bayliss getting a good run down the main straight, in to the lead through turn 1, runs a tiny bit wide in turn 2 but gathers it back together. However Troy's little mid-corner hiccup made the closely following Haga momentarily get out of the throttle, which in turn allowed Bayliss to get the squirt on earlier for the exit. So Bayliss' little mistake actually worked to his own advantage. Edwards right on the back of Bostrom now. Edwards through on Bostrom who appears to be fading a little, tyres? Only a couple of laps remaining and Bayliss has cleared out from Haga now. The gap out to over a second. Red Flag for some reason which means Bayliss is the winner.
