Castrol Honda's Colin Edwards took second place in
today's opening qualifying session for round 10 of the World Superbike
championship here at Brands Hatch, GB. The determined Texan recorded his fastest time of the session while testing a potential rear race tyre and the 28-year-old was happy with his opening day's performance. "That was pretty fast for a race tyre," said a surprised Edwards. "I was more interested in seeing how many laps the tyre would do rather than setting a fastest lap. "Overall, we've had a great first day here at Brands and made a lot of progress with the machine settings and tyres. After the win at Laguna Seca two weeks ago it feels like the whole team is only thinking about winning races now." He added: "We're in good shape for the races and
Michelin have done their homework again so tomorrow is all about trying
to get a pole position to add to the one in America in the last round." |
