Race Images Set A

Transcript from our live page that was updated throughout the session

  • Pitt takes the win!
  • Last lap, Pitt has backed off now, he still has a huge gap over Bontempi who is 2nd.  Chambon and Fujiwara fighting for 3rd.  Vermeulen and Curtain fighting it out over 11th spot.
  • Still Casoli and Pitt out front. Hold it, Casoli is down, he loses the front in Siberia.  Pitt now has a 4.3 second lead
  • Casoli and Pitt side by side down the straight, but Casoli holds an edge through the first set of turns.  Cudlin out in a big crash, but he walks away
  • Two-thirds of the way through the race now and it is a Paolo Casoli, Andrew Pitt show up front.  Bontempi now some 3.5 seconds behind the leads and in a fairly safe 3rd.  The battle for 4th is being waged between Chambon, Teuchert, Fujiwara and Kellner.  Foret runs off the circuit but saves it and regains the track after losing half a dozen places
  • Pitt back under at Honda Corner, Casoli leaned back on him, they both stay upright but that was close.  Casoli keeps the lead
  • Casoli back in front at the Hayshed
  • Pitt in to the lead at Honda, keeps it around Siberia
  • Casoli still holding off Pitt at this half race distance but the gap is down to nothing
  • Muggas engine blows up at the end of the straight, it just let go in a big way trailing a big cloud of smoke behind it.  Muggas is forced to park it at turn one and start the walk back.  Very disappointing for Karl who has having a fantastic race and battling on through his ankle injury
  • Pitt is closing on Casoli now.  Muggas under Teuchert in to MG for 4th
  • Adam Fergusson goes down and out, but is okay. Fergusson was in 10th or 11th fighting with MacPherson, Cogan and Corradi
  • Pitt back in front of Bontempi for 2nd.  They cross the line, Pitt half a second behind Casoli and Bontempi the same distance back in 3rd
  • Casoli now has half a second on Bontempi and Pitt a third of the way through the race
  • Pitt tries again in Honda, nosed in front, but ran wide and gets shifted back to 3rd
  • Lap 6 of 21 - Casoli back to the front, Pitt right with him in 2nd, Bontempi right on their tails
  • Still Casoli and Pitt out in front, Pitt under Casoli in to Honda Corner, an aggressive move
  • Cudlin having some sort of problems
  • Muggeridge 7th, Vermeulen 10th, Fergusson 13th, Curtain 17th, Stauffer 22nd
  • Cruciani penalised for a jump start, as is Carlacci and Giugovaz.
  • Casoli in to the lead!  Casoli, Pitt, Bontempi is the top 3.  Whitham bins it in to MG
  • Pitt 4th in to the first turn, Chambon out front, but Whitham takes him in to Honda corner.  Pitt up to 3rd, Casoli 4th
  • Warm up lap done, gridding up for the race now
