Bayliss took race 1, by a nose over Ruben Xaus.  Will it be a Ducati 1-2 again in the second leg?

From our live commentary

  • Ruben Xaus did not make the grid after crashing on the warm up lap

  • Eric Bostrom streaked away from the 2nd row and leads from Edwards through turn 1

  • Still Eric Bostrom, Edwards 2nd, Bayliss 3rd

  • Eric Bostrom has a couple of bike lengths on Edwards, Bayliss right on the tail of Edwards

  • Hodgson and Bostrom battling for 4th, Hayden in 6th, Haga right on him

  • Eric Bostrom still leading from Edwards and Bayliss, Edwards looks to be lining him up for a challenge soon

  • Yates 8th, Mladin 9th

  • Edwards tried on the inside, but Eric Bostrom held him out

  • Haga the fastest man on lap 3 and has now moved past Hayden and Eric Bostrom

  • Edwards through on Eric Bostrom for the lead

  • Hodgson relegates Troy Bayliss to 4th

  • Edwards in front, then Eric Bostrom, Neil Hodgson 3rd, Bayliss 4th

  • Edwards the fastest man on lap 5

  • Hodgson ran wide on to the main straight which allowed Bayliss back through for 3rd

  • Race order, end of lap 7 - Edwards, Eric Bostrom, Troy Bayliss, Hodgson, Haga, Ben Bostrom, Hayden, Yates, Mladin, Toseland, Chili, Walker, Chandler, Martin, Parkes, Goddard

  • Bayliss fastest man on lap 7

  • The top 5 are still running fairly close

  • Bayliss on the inside of Bostrom in to turn 1 and up in to 2nd

  • Hodgson made a move on Eric Bostrom but went in way too hot and lost a couple of places

  • Edwards and Bayliss out in front,  Eric Bostrom 3rd with Haga on his case

  • Ben Bostrom and Nicky Hayden running 6th and 7th, not far behind the leaders

  • Still Edwards from Bayliss, lap 12 of 28

  • Nicky Hayden got Ben Bostrom for 6th on lap 13

  • Neil Hodgson on the case after his previous mistake, back through on Haga for 4th

  • Nicky Hayden tried to out brake Haga on the inside but Nicky lost the front and took himself and Haga out

  • Nicky picked his bike back up, hit the starter and off he went, while Haga was left to walk back to the pits.  2 DNFs for Haga who was really on form this weekend

  • So now we still have Edwards, Bayliss and Eric Bostrom out in front, Neil Hodgson 4th, Ben Bostrom now 5th after Haga and Hayden's incident

  • Hodgson fastest man on lap 15,  getting on terms with Eric Bostrom now

  • Still Colin Edwards over Troy Bayliss, Eric Bostrom still holding off Hodgson

  • Bayliss made a mistake on the entry to the corkscrew and lost a lot of ground on Edwards

  • Hodgson through on Eric Bostrom for 3rd now

  • Bayliss making a little of the ground up now that he lost to Edwards a lap ago

  • Still Edwards and Bayliss out front , Hodgson also very close in 3rd, Eric Bostrom a few bike lengths back in 4th, then a big gap to any more followers

  • Lap 21 of 28 - Edwards, Bayliss, Hodgson, E Bostrom, B Bostrom, Toseland, Chili, Yates, Walker, Chandler, Martin, Parkes, Hayden, Goddard, Sanchini

  • Bayliss in to the lead

  • Bayliss and Edwards side by side down the straight, Hodgson right on his tail

  • Edwards takes the inside line and got his lead back, coming up on lapped traffic as the battle really heats up

  • Still nose to tail the leading trio with 5 laps to run

  • Bayliss and Edwards side by side again but once again Edwards has the inside line and holds on

  • Neil Hodgson is right on Bayliss' exhaust pipe and right in the fight

  • Edwards and Bayliss working hard to screw the power down with the bikes really sliding and squirming on the way out of the turns

  • Hodgson lost a couple of bike lengths over Edwards and Bayliss due to a lapper

  • Still Edwards from Bayliss,  Bayliss just had a huge slide on to the straight which let Hodgson through,  Hodgson 2nd now

  • Bayliss spinning up everywhere now but not giving up and will definitely try to get his position back from Hodgson but this has allowed Edwards to escape by a couple of bike lengths

  • Bayliss through on Hodgson, then Hodgson came back at the next turn,  then Bayliss again,  Bayliss 2nd now

  • Hodgson back in 2nd again,  Bayliss 2nd, I can't keep up

  • Bayliss has pulled away from Hodgson now, but Edwards is too far ahead and takes the win, Bayliss 2nd
