Matthew Kuhne has won the Qld Junior Sports Achiever from Motorcycling Queensland in recognition of an outstanding introduction to road racing in his first 6 months.

Matthew who began road racing in mid April this year has taken out the Qld Title and also competed as a wild card rider in the World 125 GP class at Phillip Island which made him the youngest Australian to ever compete at a World Grand Prix.

Matthew this Saturday Night will receive his award for the Junior Sports Achiever as well as being presented his Queensland Title Medallion for winning the 125 GP class in the Qld Road Racing Championships.

Matthew was also invited to race in the New Zealand Road Racing championships which begin in 3 weeks for the 4 Round Championship. New Zealand wanted to add a few International riders to the 125 GP class and have had Midge Smart (Red Bull Rookie Team Rider from England ) confirmed and Matt was to be the other rider but unless we can get some support we will be forced to decline the offer.

Matthew is determined to win the 2004 Australian Championship in the 125 GP class and is trying to organize a few races in the Spanish Championship for next season. We believe with a full season and more experience he will achieve all his goals for next year with the aim of earning a ride in World GP.

Matthews next race is at Qld Raceway on the 23rd November for the last meeting of the season for the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland.
