Kevin Curtain missed out on any points from the second race and again in the final supersport race so the Novocastrian would be pumped up for this final Superbike race of the day.

Dan Stauffer and Craig Coxhell both got off the line well, Stauffer had a little clutch creep on the line but it should be deemed acceptable.  Josh Brookes put a wheel in the dirt but managed to rejoin the tar still ahead of Kevin Curtain while Coxhell and Stauffer led the way up front.

Curtain and Giles then relegated Brookes to 5th to make it the regular Team Suzuki and Nikon Yamaha show up front with Coxhell leading the way from Stauffer, Curtain and Coxhell.  All the leading four on used rubber due to the two sets of tyres for the three races rule in Australian Superbike and in the closing laps Curtain may have an advantage as he crashed early in the previous race which means his tyres have less laps on them.

Curtain hit the lead on lap 3 but Stauffer quickly took it off him and a few corners later Curtain got the lead back.  Curtain, Stauffer, Giles, Coxhell, McCarthy the leading five on lap 4.  Brookes also not too far behind in sixth place, the Honda's not getting left behind this time.

A second covered the first five riders as they started lap 5 with Curtain and Stauffer regularly swapping the lead with Giles struggling to stay on terms with the Yamaha duo.

Kevin Curtain got down to the 1-minute-10s on lap 8 of the 12 lap race which was pace that nobody could match in this final race on used rubber. Daniel Stauffer was a clear second place 1.5 seconds behind Curtain while Giles and Coxhell battled for 3rd spot a further 1.8 seconds down.

Curtain took the win by 2.7 seconds from Stauffer with Giles managing to hold off Coxhell for third place.

That gives Shawn Giles the round win with 57 points to Coxhell's 54 with Kevin Curtain scoring 50 points from his two finishes to take third overall from the round.

Coxhell still leads the Australian Superbike Championship on 195 points from Shawn Giles on 180 and Kevin Curtain on 176 points. (Provisional Points)
