Robbie Baird has signed a contract
with Kawasaki Motors to race the new ZX-10R and the ZX-6RR in the
revitalised Australian Championships in 2004. “I’m delighted a rider of the calibre of Robbie is on the team,” said a smiling Murray Sayle the team’s Manager who will be overseeing Kawasaki’s most ambitious road racing program since the mid-Nineties. “Robbie’s a no-nonsense, experienced and highly talented rider who will help develop the ZX-10R into a competitive production Superbike,” Murray went on to say, “The 10R is looking good on paper, and I know we’ll have the capability to develop it and give the established Superbike players a shock, and we also know from a season with the 6R that we’ll really be in a strong position to lift the 600 crown.”Additionally Jamie Stauffer has signed a letter of intent to ride the Superbike and 600 for the team next year and indicated today that he would sign the contract. Murray Sayle stated, “With Jamie on board as well, we’re in a strong position as I believe Jamie has a huge amount of talent. Behind the scenes we are assembling a strong engineering team to make the bikes as competitive as our riders, and I’m really looking forward to working with Jamie and Robbie and the rest of the team. Roll on 2004!” The Kawasaki Racing Team has yet to finalise its sponsor support for 2004. |
