CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha star Troy Carroll will return to competition at round five of the Australian Supercross Nationals at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday 21st February.

Carroll has been sidelined for the past four rounds after slipping two discs in his back during a practice session at the opening round of the 2004 Championship, earlier this year.

Carroll has undergone an intense rehabilitation program which saw the 2003 Pro Lites Champion forced to wear a specially made body brace to escalate the healing process.

The 24 year-old from Toowoomba has been given the all clear by specialists to return to riding duties with Yamaha’s factory Supercross team and says he is ready to take on the Pro Open class.

“I can’t wait to get back on track and show what I am capable of,” said Carroll. “All I could think about these past weeks was getting back on the bike.

“I have worked really hard with my specialist and trainer to make sure I did everything right when preparing for my return to racing.

“I really appreciate all the help and support Craig (Dack) and the team have given me over the past month,” said Carroll.

“I want to go out on Saturday, break into it and have a bit of fun - then the results will come.

“So let’s go and put this bike on the podium!” Carroll added.

CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha team manager Craig Dack was ecstatic when given the news of Carroll’s imminent return.

“Troy’s return is great news for the whole team,” said Dack. “We are all very excited and looking forward to hitting the track in Adelaide with a full outfit.

“This is a good morale booster for the team and I think his return will give confidence to Cameron (Taylor) and Daniel (McCoy) as well.

“I am not going to put huge expectations on Troy this weekend, as really this is his first round in the Pro Open class.

“I wouldn’t say no to a podium finish though,” Dack added.

The CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha arrives in Adelaide on Friday morning to prepare for the fifth round of the Australian Supercross Nationals at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday 21st February.

No Fear Honda star Shane Metcalfe is still out with injury but with join presenters in Adelaide this weekend to add his expert comments on how the series is shaping up.
