Juniors – Race 2 - The juniors were out again next and this time Wade Thompson made sure he was not left behind at the start, the Mount Gambier teenager quickly led the way from Ford Dale and Gianni Dalle-Molle. But
Thompson was not to get it all his own way as Dalle-Molle was
determined to pressure him all the way. By half race distance
Dalle-Molle had got the better of Thompson for the lead. Matt Moss
also got the better of Thompson to take second place. The up-ramp to
the bridge again proved troublesome with a number of riders ending
up on their posterior as their machines simply refused to drive up the ramp
in the slippery conditions. Cameron Sinclair and Jye Harvey quickly
established themselves as the front runners. Bradleigh Thompson then
lost drive on the up-ramp and slid sideways off the edge, falling
uninjured. Harvey got the better of Sinclair for the lead and built
a small gap but Sinclair came right back at him on the next lap.
Sinclair went on to take the win from
Harvey with Justin Girotto squeezing in to third place after a good
ride. Meanwhile Nathan Brochtrup took over out in front. A rider then looped out his machine on the tip of the up-ramp and stood on the top with his machine hung up on the railing, flag marshals struggled to walk to the top of the ramp in an effort to help remove his machine from the railing. Brochtrup took the win from
Klasen
while McKenna hung on third position to become the final qualifier
for the Pro Open final. At the end of the race marshals were still
struggling to unhook the bike stuck on the railing at the bridge.
Juniors – Race 3 – Dalle Molle got the
holeshot in the final junior race of the night which had been
shorted to three laps. Thompson soon made a pass on Dalle-Molle to
take the lead and immediately started to pull away on his way to the
win. Then it was on to the main events... |
