Stuart Strickland, Honda’s Senior Director released a statement, “We are very disappointed Peter has had to resign his position. His work and experience with Honda was valuable to the team. Personal health issues override any business and we are confident Peter will regain his strength with rest and relaxation.

"A replacement will be named shortly. We expect the Team to continue to build on the foundation that Peter created.”

An added note from the editor - Peter is one of Australia's most experienced race technicians with many years spent in the 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix Championship at the highest level. 

He is also an experienced off-road rider who still loves getting out and getting dirty when he gets the chance.

Over the years our paths have crossed many times in and out of race paddocks and I have always appreciated his open, friendly and down to earth manner.

I sincerely hope that Peter can overcome any upcoming challenges and my best wishes to Peter and his family.
