The warm up lap seemed a bit of a
misnomer for this event as the riders splashed their way around
the Misano circuit before coming around to form up on the grid
for this third World Supersport race of the year. Of
course the last round was at Phillip Island where young
Australian wildcard entrant Josh Brookes took a brilliant win
from Kevin Curtain. Broc Parkes led the way early on from Kevin Curtain and looked to be doing it easy in the wet conditions. Lorenzo Lanzi then got the better of Curtain for second place on the second lap with Muggeridge, Fujiwara and Goorbergh in tow. Muggeridge started to put in an effort to move forward and lost the rear in two corners in succession. It just went sideways mid corner tow corners in a row, how he saved one of them, let alone both of them, was amazing. Broc Parkes looking untouchable out in front though, by a quarter race distance he had a five second advantage over his pursuers as they all fought over second place. Muggeridge and Curtain then managed to shake off the pack and set out after Broc Parkes. Muggeridge the only one looking like he might get on terms with Parkes though as the laps counted down. Muggeridge made another huge save, full sideways and somehow managed to save it once again. Every other rider that has got as sideways as Muggas has dumped it, but Muggas has saved three huge slides which looked too far gone to ever get back. Impressive. Once again we have Aussies 1-2-3 in a World Supersport race, not bad when there is only three Aussies in the race! Broc Parkes set the fastest lap on the 14th time around the Misano circuit as the rain started to ease off. Parkes and Muggas pushing very hard in the treacherous conditions. Then Broc Parkes goes down, the Newcastle rider having no luck this year. Something has to go his way at some stage this year. That left Muggeridge to take the win from Kevin Curtain.
