- 1718 - Dan Stauffer down
to 22.742, fourth quickest
- 1717 - Jamie heading out
again now, will only get the chance at one more flyer I
would think... The wind really quite strong here which would
be causing them some problems
- 1716 - Wayne Maxwell and
Bryan Staring on out laps now, Shannon Johnson also heading
out again now, 3 minutes to run
- 1715 - Giles to third with
a 22.726.. Coxhell up to seventh with a 23.587
- 1714 - Jamie has decided
to get serious, the Yamaha man goes to the top of the charts
with a 22.394... I expected him to go quicker and he still
might do so...
- 1712 - Staring improves
now with a 22.909 but remains fourth
- 1710 - Dan Stauffer down
to 22.855 but remains third in the rankings. Allerton
improves to a 23.664 and is currently eighth
- 1709 - Ten minutes to run
and Holland still on top with his morning time with Jamie,
Dan and Bryan the next also on their morning time. Maxwell
is currently fifth ahead of Giles, Fergusson, Allerton,
Coxhell and Johnson rounds out the top ten
- 1707 - Coxhell starting to
work up some pace now, up to ninth quickest with a 23.739
- 1706 - Giles improves to a
23.275
- 1706 - Maxwell fifth now
with a 23.222
- 1705 - Gilesy down to
23.299 now to go fifth quickest, Maxwell up to sixth
quickest with a 23.318 to push Krusty back to seventh
- 1702 - Rain is forecast
for tomorrow and of course due to the this unique double
header format to be run this weekend we have racing all day
Saturday and all day Sunday.
- 1659 - Jamie Stauffer and
Shannon Johnson on out laps now
- 1656 - Krusty has started
to get get serious now, the first of the fancied runners to
lower their time from this morning, a 1m23.618 to the DVS /
Oleon man to promote himself to sixth quickest
- 1649 - Superbikes heading
out of pit lane now for their final qualifying session
- 1646 - Best wishes to the
patient for a full recovery
- 1645 - We have lift off
- 1643 - Rotors running now
and getting ready for take off
- 1641 - After the
helicopter clears the area Superbike qualifying will get
underway followed by shortened final qualifying sessions for
the FZ-6 Cup and 125 classes
- 1637 - The patient is now
being transferred into the helicopter
- 1627 - There doesn't seem
to be any rush to transfer the patient from the ambulance to
the helicopter as obviously every precaution being taken
- 1622 - The ambulance is
now alongside the helicopter
- 1619 - The helicopter
arrived at 1619
- 1616 - We are waiting for
the helicopter to arrive now and we expect it to land on the
main straight and take the injured rider off to hospital
- 1604 - We are still
waiting for a start here today, the ambulance is yet to
leave so perhaps we are waiting for a helicopter to arrive
- 1554 - Grids decided thus
far - Superstock
- Naked/Twins -
Supersport -
FX Cup
- 1541 - Clean up crews are
busy sweeping the track of debris ad I don't think we will
be too far away from a restart. The ambulance has yet to
leave the track
- 1532 - The second
ambulance has just arrived now in case the riders need to be
transported to hospital which I would imagine is fairly
certain
- 1532 - The bike wreckage
is being removed now. When things finally get underway again
it will be straight into Superbike Final Qualifying
- 1529 - The ambulance is
moving off the track now.
- 1525 - The rider is now
being transferred into the ambulance
- 1523 - Preparations still
being made to move the rider but he has still not been moved
as yet
- 1517 - It looks now as
though the medical personnel are preparing to move the most
seriously injured rider into the ambulance, every precaution
obviously being taken in case their are any spinal injuries
- 1514 - It appears that it
was not caused by a rider coming out of pitlane but instead
by a rider failing to take turn ten and running wide of the
tyre barrier and then straight across the main straight
where he as come together with a rider at speed on the main
straight... Medical staff still attending to the injured.
One rider appears to be okay but the condition of the other
rider is unknown at this stage
- 1503 - With six minutes
remaining in the FX Cup session a huge crash on the pit
straight has halted proceedings. It appears as though
a rides has come out of pitlane in front of another rider
running at full speed down the straight and the two have
come together in a very big way. Wreckage is strewn
across the circuit. One rider was up and moving while the
other was lying prone and is being attended to by the Suzuki
sponsored Racesafe personnel so they are in the best of
hands.

- Waters 24.603
- Seaton 23.616
- Maxwell 24.636

- 1442 - Holland has gone
out and had a crack, a 23.984 to be third quickest as the
clock stops and riders are on their final lap now
- 1440 - Gareth Jones into
eighth now with a 25.062
- 1435 - Maxwell has made an
improvement to 1m25.155 to be eighth quickest on combined
time
- 1421 - None of the front
runners improving in this session thus far and most in fact
sitting out and conserving their tyres.
- 1413 - In the nakedbike
final qualifying session Scott Charlton took pole with his
morning time good enough to take the honour. He didn't ride
in the afternoon session. I expect he will ride in this
afternoon's Superbike final qualifier though. He ended first
qualifying on the deck after a nasty fall but he should be
back in action later this afternoon
- 1412 - Supersport machines
head out of pitlane now to commence their final qualifying
session
- 1301 - Lunch break is on
now. We are shutting down the live page now until things get
interesting again later this afternoon. After lunch we have
final qualifying sessions for Superstock, Nakeds/Twins,
Supersport, FX Cup, Superbike, FZ6 Cup and 125 with the
sessions running in that order. We will do the live page for
the Supersport and Superbike sessions.

and running again shortly
- 1234 - Session will be
restarted again with 8 minutes to run... Rider looks to be
fine but machine stranded in the middle of the track
- 1233 - And just as we got
up to speed... Another rider gets a bit too eager with the
right go grip and launches himself over the top... Red flag
out again...
- 1232 - Riders working
their way back up to speed now... Staring first to improve
with a 23.092 to be the closest to the dominant Yamaha
dynamic duo
- 1229 - Riders exiting
pitlane now for the remaining 12 minutes of the session...
Some riders would have welcomed that break in proceedings to
change rubber and suspension settings while the clock was
not ticking...
- 1225 - With 12 minutes
remaining in the session the current state of affairs is...
- Jamie Stauffer 1m22.786
- Dan Stauffer 23.007
- Bryan Staring 23.793
- Charlton 23.825
- Giles 23.849
- Holland 23.967

- Fraser 26.317
- Gurowski 27.041
- Battista 27.589
- Odendaal 28.539
- Sidwell 28.548
- 1223 - A rider was down in
the middle of the track which caused the red flag but he is
up and moving about okay and we should be underway again
shortly unless there was an oil down. The session will
be restarted with 12 minutes remaining. The faller was
Shannon Etheridge but he looks fine
- 1221 - Red Flag
- 1220 - Well there is that
promised 22, a 22.786 to Jamie, stand by for another quick
one...
- 1219 - Another quick one
to Dan, a 23.007, oh so close to a 22.... We will
definitely see 22s before this session is out though and
perhaps even a 21 if they decide to get really excited.
- 1218 - Jamie improves now
to a 23.34. The current order is Dan, Jamie, Bryan, Scott,
Shawn, Russell, Wayne, Glenn, Anthony and Adam rounds out
the top ten.
- 1217 - 15 minutes to run
in this session now and Dan is continuing to string good
laps together, he just lowered the mark again with a 23.04
- 1216 - Holland into the
23s now, sixth quickest with a 23.96. Charlton is up to
fourth ahead of Giles after putting in a 23.83. Dan
quicker again now, just crossed the line with a 23.34
- 1215 - Dan Stauffer on top
now with a 23.48 to make it four men in the 23s. Just
outside is Charlton on 24.09 followed by Maxwell, Gobert
- 1212 - With 20 minutes to
run in this sweaty first session Jamie, Bryan and Shawn are
still the only ones in the 23s. Rain has been forecast
for some parts of the area but it looks unlikely we will get
any here today, nonetheless some riders might have a red hot
go at the end of this session just in case... Especially
with rain forecast for the wider area tomorrow and the
possibility of some wet races
- 1211 - Jamie Stauffer is
maintaining the rage with the first 1m23 for the day, a
1m23.763 but Staring right behind on 23.79 followed by Giles
on 23.86
- 1210 - A look back at
yesterday.... Practice saw Team Yamaha again stamp their
authority on proceedings with the Stauffer brothers more
than half a second ahead. After second practice however Team
Suzuki’s Shawn Giles was less than a tenth behind the Yamaha
duo and Honda’s Bryan Staring showed that Pirelli could put
up with the heat by ending the session fourth quickest, only
a couple of tenths behind Giles. Kawasaki's change to Dunlop
obviously agreed with Wayne Maxwell as the Kawasaki man was
fifth quickest, only hundredths of a second behind Staring.
Four manufacturers in the top five covered by only
four-tenths of a second certainly bodes well for an exciting
weekend ahead. In fact the entire top ten on Thursday were
covered by only a single second with Charlton (Yamaha) sixth
ahead of Allerton (Honda), Johnson (Kawasaki), Holland
(Honda) and Fergusson (Honda). Suzuki duo Craig Coxhell and
Robert Bugden sit just outside the top ten with Etheridge
(Yamaha), Gobert (Kawasaki) and Roe (Honda) rounding out the
top 15.
- 1205 - Weather is damn
hot, how hot? Bloody hot indeed! Track
temperature would have to be approaching 50C and ambient
seems to be heading towards the high 30s. A stiff breeze is
also blowing across the circuit
- 1203 - Superbikes heading
out of pitlane now for their first qualifying session of the
weekend in this all new double header format that will make
up rounds two and three of the championship
