  • 1804 - Phillis responds though and takes the win with 45.3 on the final lap, the winner by a full second. Corpe in second place but only just as Marsden put in a cracker of a final lap, a 44.89 to nearly take Corpe on the line. Stack fourth then it was Skank, Webster, Loly, Wolfenden, Patterson, Elliott, Britton
  • 1802 - Corpe again the quickest man, a 45.7 to the 45.8 of Phillis as they get the last lap board.. The difference 0.462 of a second. Marsden third, Stack fourth
  • 1800 - Phillis is not pulling away, Marsden is maintaining that half second gap with both riders putting in a 46.5 on lap two, Corpe the man making ground a 45.8 to the man in third place...
  • 1758 - Phillis has made it out in this one and quickly set about making up for lost time after putting his engine back together today. An early half second lead to the popular racer over Marsden who enjoys a similar buffer over Corpe

Dan on Jamie's pipe through 11 and maintains it through 12 but Jamie holds it to the line for the win, Giles third, Fergusson fourth followed home by Charlton, Allerton Staring, Johnson, Holland, Coxhell, Gobert, Maxwell, Higgins, Rattenbury, Tozer, Taylor
  • 1744 - The Yamaha men still on the 2006 machines, as is Giles. A 34.98 to Jamie this time, Dan sticking with him though... Gilesy now 1.3 seconds down on them but with 9-tenths over Fergusson..
  • 1743 - 35.0 to both Jamie and Dan on lap two, they lead Gilesy by 7-tenths now who in turn has 1.2 seconds on Fergusson and Charlton
  • 1742 - Charlton and Fergusson look to be catching the leading trio, Jamie the front runner, Dan tucked in right behind, Gilesy a few bike lengths behind the Yamaha pair
  • 1741 - Jamie to the lead now though as they run on to the main straight and holds it through turn one...
  • 1740 - Dan to the lead between two and three and holds on to it trough 4 and then Siberia.. The order is Dan, Jamie Shawn, Charlton as they come round MG Hairpin for the first time..
  • 1739 - Giles and Jamie away well and Jamie leads through turn one, Dan right up there also, a Kawasaki in the mix aswell
  • 1738 - Aussie Superbikes getting ready for a start...
  • 1735 - A four lap Aussie Superbike race up next
  • 1728 - Aussie Supersport Race Two Results

  21. Griffin
  22. McLinden
  23. Smibert
  • 1727 - Still he leads around the Hayshed, and has the line for MG... O'Halloran behind him through 11...winds it up behind him to chase him down the straight.... Staring leads, down the straight, O'Halloran slipstreams him to pip him on the line. The win to O'Halloran by 0.018 of a second, Jamie third 0.185, Crowe fourth 0.187
  • 1726 - Crowe leads now, Staring second but then to the the lead at turn four sideways on, leads them through Siberia...
  • 1724 - O'Halloran getting in on the fun also now... Again Bryan makes an amazing move, around the Hayshed Jamie tried to get him but he took a strange line and went straight past Crowe for the lead... Crazy stuff!  Jamie gets him though through turn 12 and the quartet nose to tail down the main straight for the last lap board...
  • 1723 - Staring goes from third to first around turn four!  That was unbelievable, the Yamaha men must have slowed each other up around four and Bryan just waltzed straight past them, it all looked quite surreal.... Staring leads them around the back of the circuit but Crowe takes the lead again at MG Hairpin.... Jamie underneath Staring through turn 12 as the Honda man chased the front... Staring back past Jamie on the entry to turn one but Crowe retains the lead...
  • 1722 - And they are off!  Jamie Stauffer gets a better start this time around which will prove vital as this race has been shortened to four laps due to time constraints. A Honda down, Russell Holland down at turn four but up and back on his bike in no time. Jamie in the lead from Crowe, Staring third, O'Halloran fourth and Waters fifth. Crowe in the lead now...
  • 1720 - Aussie Supersport riders forming up on the grid now...
  • 1717 - We just lost out connection for 15 minutes at a great time!  Everyone lost the connection in the media centre as it failed at a crucial moment.  Aussie Supersport Race Two up very shortly .
  • 1706 - Bayliss pretty line ball with Toseland at the fist split, nothing in it... He is certainly trying though and looking very aggressive... Through the Hayshed and Lukey Heights he made a heap of time, 2-tenths quicker at the second split... Across the line and confirms his pole... A 32.145 to Bayliss so the Superpole results are

    Bayliss 32.145
    Toseland 32.198
    Corser 32.605
    Haga 32.879
    Biaggi 32.928
    Nieto 33.132
    Neukirchner 33.188
    Xaus 33.367
    Laconi 33.368
    Lanzi 33.969
    Martin 33.994
    Brookes 34.731
    Fabrizio 35.215
    Smrz 35.327
    Rolfo 36.295
  • 1704 - Toseland marginally quicker than Corser at the first split... He smashes it, 32.198 to the Brit. Can Bayliss knock him off....
  • --- A great time for our connection to fail ----
  • 1702 - Corser one-tenth under at the first split... 0.2 at the second split on course for the top of the timesheets... And he does it, a 32.6 to Corser and pretty happy with that lap. The two form men thus far this weekend to go, Bayliss and Toseland...
  • 1657 - Lanzi half a second down at the first split.... Not going to get to the top of the charts on that form.... Drops a lot more time through the back of the circuit, will be shuffled down the grid...
  • 1655 - Not quite there... Max second by 8-hundredths of a second... Lanzi up next
  • 1653 - Biaggi pretty much line-ball with Haga at the first split...Same at the second split... It will all be in this run through 11 and 12...
  • 1652 - Second quickest to Neukirchner, a 33.18 to the Suzuki Germany man.  Biaggi next...
  • 1651 - Neukirchner 2-tenths down on Haga at the first split but still in good stead compared to the rest... Down 4-tenths at the second split, should go second or third quickest...
  • 1649 - Haga knocks them both off though with a 32.879 to go to the top of the charts... His best lap of the weekend.... Neukirchner up next
  • 1647 - Xaus a couple of tenths behind Laconi at the first split but quicker than all but Laconi but he makes up a heap of ground around the back of the circuit to be on track to knock the Kawasaki man off.....  It's all in the run through 11 and 12.... And he does it, 1m33.367 to go to the top by a tiny one-thousandth of a second
  • 1645 - Laconi half a second quicker at the second split, we will have a new leader....  33.36, the fastest time he has put in all weekend... Regis saved his best for that...  Xaus up next
  • 1644 - Laconi on his lap now, quickest at the first split, considerably so....
  • 1643 - An aggressive lap from Martin, and he lowers the mark to 33.99 to go quickest and knock Brookes off the top
  • 1641 - Rolfo slowest thus far with no help from what looked like an engine problem on his Ten Kate Fireblade.  Martin on his lap now...
  • 1639 - Rolfo on his lap now and the Fireblade puffing a little bit of smoke, quite slow through the first sector, a second slower than Brookesy at the second split, he will be slowest I think...
  • 1637 - Fabrizio looking determined and on the gas nicely out of two and tidy through turn 3 but nearly four tenths slower than Brookesy through that first section of the track. Loses another couple of tenths on Brookes through the middle of the circuit, on the gas really hard through 11 and 12 and the bike sounding strong... Second quickest to Brookes, a 35.215 to Fabrizio
  • 1635 - Smrz on his lap now, quite a bit slower than Brookesy on the first split, around the same through the middle part of the lap but that half a second in the first third of the lap and that cost him, a 35.32 to the Ducati man. Fabrizio on his warm up lap now...
  • 1633 - Brookesy on his Superpole lap now, tucked in beautifully, nice around 2 and 3 a bit sideways in to four but not too untidy, quite tidy around Siberia, slides the rear around Lukey Heights, short shift before turn 11, smoking the rear untidy on the entry to turn 12... A 1m34.731 in the windy conditions on his spare bike, quite a tidy lap from the monitors apart from a save he had to pull off in 12 that cost him a little. It also looks as though he might have had to save the front out of 2 earlier in the lap.
  • -- A little tech problem that caused us a break in transmission, back up to full speed now...

  • 1606 - Five minutes left in this session and Superpole is set to get underway at 1630 - We will bring you the results of this practice session when it concludes so for now enjoy some more images - Gallery E - Right now I am preparing for you another gallery with images of the swingarms on the various machines, good fodder for the tech-heads out there
  • 1559 - Now a 32.03 to Bayliss, after doing very little all session the Ducati man shoots straight to the top.
  • 1557 - A 32.255 to Toseland that time...
  • 1556 - Toseland heads out again to lower the mark to a 32.39 and is backing it up with another flyer right no, maybe on course for a 31...
  • 1550 - Biaggi having a go now, up to second quickest with a 33.15 and then backed it up with a 33.22
  • 1547 - Most riders are currently in the pits
  • 1542 - Halfway point of this free practice session now and the current state of affairs is...
  1. Toseland 32.93
  2. Haga 33.34
  3. Corser 33.49
  4. Xaus 33.67
  5. Biaggi 33.77
  6. Laconi 33.82
  7. Rolfo 33.90
  8. Bayliss 34.00
  9. Brookes 34.33
  10. Nieto 34.41
  11. Lanzi 34.48
  12. Fabrizio 34.67
  13. Martin 35.0
  14. Neukirchner 3540
  15. Nakatomi 36.20
  16. Smrz 36.44
  17. Polita 37.80
  18. Zaiser 38.00
  19. Ellison 38.28
  20. Drazdak 38.82
  • 1536 - 33.05 to Toseland that time.  Second quickest rider thus far in this session is Haga with a 33.34 then it is Corser on 33.49 followed by Xaus (33.67), Biaggi (33.7), Laconi (33.8), Rolfo (33.9), Bayliss (34.0), Brookes (34.3) and Nieto rounding out the top ten (34.4)
  • 1534 - Smrz has some technical dramas and has stopped out on the track. Toseland puts in another 1m33.19.  He has put in more than half a dozen laps that are faster than the second fastest time by anyone thus far in this session. And on this lap he is under his best at the first split. Lap after lap, he looks the man
  • 1533 - Toseland still just cracking out flat 33s one after the other
  • 1531 - Brookesy is back out and circulating, Bayliss is still in the pits, Haga and Lanzi both in the pits also, Biaggi just coming in.  Bayliss heading out of pitlane now
  • 1529 - Brookesy back in the pits, the boys had to prepare his second bike in the break in that session after his engine lunched itself in the opening minutes of this session
  • 1528 - Toseland just continuing to reel off a continuous string of quick laps. Bayliss in the pits
  • 1526 - 33.098 to Toseland on that next lap.  Corser and Haga looking much stronger in this session
  • 1525 - Toseland backed that up with a 32.930 and is on another quick one right now...
  • 1523 - Toseland down to business with a 32.945, Haga and Corser also showing encouraging signs of improvement.  Toseland and Bayliss have been the men thus far this weekend with the consistent pace so the others will need to find something in this session to be able to challenge them tomorrow
  • 1518 - I just went for a look through the pit garages as the riders waited for the session to be restarted and it is amazing to see how many different swingarms the bikes have. Steve Martin has different swingarms on each of his bikes, Brookesy's is different again, and Toseland's are different once again.  Actually Toseland's swingarms are works of art and have a neat KR stamped on them as Kenny Roberts' engineering makes their swingarms for them
  • 1517 - The Superbikes are finally out on track again now after that oil down was cleared up. It seems as though Brookesy's engine has gone bang and then his teammate Muggeridge has gone down on his oil.  Hopefully Karl is not too worse for wear
  • 1449 - It is Muggas down, so both Alto Honda machines buggered after only a couple of minutes. Brookesy remained upright but fairly confident his engine was lunched in some way, it didn't pour smoke but it did bellow some flames from the bellypan
  • 1447 - Brookesy's Fireblade just went bang only a couple of minutes in to the session.  Someone else down, red flag is out. Think Muggas may be down, conscious but maybe a bit worse for wear, not sure it is Muggas though
  • 1440 - Five minutes until World Superbike Free Practice 2 - The last chance for the Superbike boys to work on their race set-ups and prepare before Superpole later this afternoon. If we make it through this session with no rain it will be a miracle by looking at the sky but the radar indicates that it might just miss us

  • 1430 - Riders are on their last lap now... Foret will have pole and alongside him on the front row will be Curtain, Charpentier and Sofuogu. Second row will be Nannelli, Parkes, Veneman, and Fujiwara then it will be Tiberio, Checa, Riba, Gimbert, Harms, Kallio, Ivanov, Alfonsi, Roccoli, Jones, Peris, Leblanc, Sanna, Giugliano, Fores, Vizziello, Salom, Lagrive, Boccolini and Seaton 28th out of the 38 strong grid.  Greedy 32nd
  • 1428 - Foret's Kawasaki just ran out of steam and he rolled to a stop, he won't have time to get going again to attempt to lower his provisional pole time. In the dying seconds of this session now.  The wind must really be playing havoc with the machines through the faster turns, I would imagine it would be downright scary out there in places
  • 1425 - Charpentier just ran off the track momentarily but quickly rejoined and got back down to business. Less than five minutes remaining in this session now, still Foret on top from Curtain, Charpentier, Sofuoglu and Nannelli
  • 1423 - He had backed it in a little to turn four but gathered it up and looked settle before losing the front mid corner, was a bit strange actually as he was settled and it was way after tip in point, he was settled and looking good and then front just folded soft and then back went down with it
  • 1422 - Curtain just had a small off, he is walking back to the pits under his own steam
  • 1415 - Foret's early 35.16 still the benchmark but that hasn't stopped the Kawasaki man from almost continuously circulating the Phillip Island circuit. He has put in an incredible amount of laps in this session
  • 1411 - There is lots and lots of rain around but miraculously it seems as though it may miss us here at the track if we get real lucky
  • 1409 - The wind has just brewed up something shocking, it is now absolutely blowing a huge gale here right now. I certainly would not like to be out on the track right now and I fear the rain could be only minutes away but I think this time it might come in with a whole lot more vengeance that its brief and passing drizzle earlier in the day
  • 1407 - The weather looks to be turning a bit dodgy again...
  • 1405 - Foret's early 35.16 still the benchmark although Curtain has closed in with a 35.19. I must say Kevin Curtain is looking lighter than ever this year, he has always been one of the slightest built Aussie racers but this year there really is nothing of him
  • 1400 - Just to go back to that monumental crash of Brent Odgers in the Superbike race... I just had a look at some of Stephen's shots from a long way away at the carnage, one half of the bike ended up a good 60 yards away from the other half of the bike. Total destruction
  • 1349 - World Supersport Final Qualifying underway, Foret straight down to business with a 35.1. Conditions here have fined up, a bit cloudy the but the sun is strong and quite hot, the track is clean and dry
  • 1336 - World Supersport Final Qualifying kicks off in 10 minutes
  • 1248 - A bit of a special gathering about to take place on the straight with Phillis, Magee, Goddard, Slight, Merkel and Tardozzi all leathered up and on bikes from the manufacturers they raced for a photo shoot and some laps for the crowd.
  • 1243 - A lengthy break now before World Supersport Qualifying so enjoy some more images - Gallery C - Gallery D
  • 1242 - Aussie Superbike Race One Results
  1. J Stauffer

  3. Charlton 4.33secs

  19. Higgins 1 lap
  • 1236 - Suspect that very broken bike might belong to Brent Odgers but not 100% on that
  • 1233 - That Superbike that went down the road early in the race, still not sure who it was, they walked away, but the machine is absolutely destroyed and broken in half. The thing just flew into pieces as it tumbled over and over.  The footage is absolutely sensational while at the same time being downright scary, that was one of the most spectacular bike destructions I have ever seen and definitely a very expensive one, I can't see anything being salvaged from that machine whatsoever
  • 1231 - We know how brutally powerful is that GSX-R and it will be a drag to the line.... But Jamie gets a break around the back of the circuit and the Hayshed... Three bike lengths between them at MG.... But no Jamie gets good drive through 11 and 12 and Gilesy has no answer for him so yet again the win goes to Jamie. Giles second, Charlton third then it was Fergusson, Allerton, Staring, Coxhell, Dan Stauffer, Johnson, Gobert, Maxwell, Tozer, Whiteley
  • 1230 - Last lap and Gilesy is now all over Jamie!!! The Suzuki man saving his run to the end...
  • 1229 - Jamie leads by a second over Giles with two laps to run... Charlton, Staring and Fergusson covered by only a couple of tenths as they tussle for the final step on the podium.  Staring out brakes himself at four!  That's his game up and out of the fight for that podium, just way too sideways and untidy on entry and had to stand it up and take the escape route right between Charlton and Fergusson!  Could have been messy...
  • 1228 - Lapped traffic starting to come into play... Charlton back up to third... This trio fighting very hard but Krusty looks to be playing perhaps a bit of a waiting game while letting the other two tear up their tyres...
  • 1227 - Charlton back up to third at turn four, but Staring around the outside at turn seven!  Brave move indeed!  Krusty right there and in the hunt...
  • 1226 - Staring gets a better run on to the straight as Charlton searched for grip out of turn 12 and goes back to third place into turn one. Again Bryan really screwing that Pirelli into mush out of turn two
  • 1225 - Charlton takes third back at turn four, Krusty right in this mix now also.  Jamie the clear leader, Shawn a clear second
  • 1224 - Staring under Charlton at MG Hairpin, third place is his... He was to try and put some space between him and the gaggle behind him now as Fergusson is also queuing up for a crack at Charlton
  • 1223 - Big slide for Bryan out of turn two but stays on the gas and keeps position
  • 1222 - Staring the only rider anywhere near the front that is not on Dunlops, his Honda shod with Pirellis this year.... Under Allerton at MG Hairpin goes Staring!  Forceful but fair move and now he has his sights set on Charlton... With Allerton dispensed with Staring has his chance at the podium if he can crack Charlton
  • 1221 - Dan Stauffer and Adam Fergusson running only a couple of bike lengths behind that tussle over fourth spot between Allerton and Staring
  • 1220 - Perhaps not half a second the gap but a few bike lengths at least. Staring having lots of trouble getting past Allerton and their tussle has given Charlton some breathing space
  • 1219 - Staring picking up his pace, challenging Allerton and Charlton now in a tussle for third place. Jamie has around half a second on Shawn...
  • 1218 - One of the riders just had a big off but walked away fine, his bike though in pieces!  Not sure who it is but not one of the usual front runners... Jamie to the lead now and he pulls some ground on Gilesy around turns 11 and 12...
  • 1217 - Jamie into the lead at turn one but Gilesy gets him back with a better run and line to turn two, this pair already breaking away
  • 1216 - Aussie Superbikes are away and the master of slightly dodgy conditions is leading the way and that is of course none other than Shawn Giles!  Jamie on his tail and Scott Charlton an impressive third as they go around the back of the circuit for the first time...
  • 1213 - Race control are now in the process of signing off on the Superpole list and with Kagayama not taking any more part in the round it means that Brookesy will be promoted to 16th and thus will make Superpole!
  • 1208 - I can't see the top Aussie boys fighting too hard in these conditions as it is a non championship event for them. Last thing they will want to do is get injured before round two at Winton which is only a couple of weeks away... The drizzle has stopped and the track is fairly dry but still things a little tricky
  • 1203 - Difficult half damp conditions for the Aussie Superbikes that are scheduled to start their first race of the weekend in 15 minutes
  • 1201 - Well that session finished up with nobody on the track in the last 15 minutes due to the light drizzle so the order is as we posted at 1146
  • 1151 - Brookesy will be well frustrated with his current position.  Incredibly he is the fourth quickest rider into turn one, not on top speed, but on entry speed to the first split, Biaggi is the quickest into there followed by Toseland, Fabrizio and then Brookesy. Bayliss is eighth quickest into there
  • 1147 - At this stage of the game it looks as though Brookesy will not make the Superpole cut off. All riders are in the pits
  • 1146 - With just under 15 minutes to run the current state of affairs is...
  1. Bayliss 31.88
  2. Toseland 32.04
  3. Corser 32.66
  4. Nieto 32.76
  5. Lanzi 32.77
  6. Biaggi 32.79
  7. Neukirchner 32.79
  8. Haga 32.96
  9. Kagayama 33.15 (Friday)
  10. Xaus 33.26
  11. Laconi 33.45
  12. Martin 33.67
  13. Rolfo 33.65
  14. Fabrizio 33.69
  15. Muggeridge 33.78
  16. Smrz 34.01
  17. Brookes 34.35
  18. Nakatomi 35.08
  19. Polita 35.73
  20. Zaiser 35.74
  21. Drazdak 37.19
  22. Ellison 37.24
  • 1144 - The rain is here... It is drizzling ever so slightly now...
  • 1141 - Bayliss and Toseland clearly the pacesetters here. If the race is dry I think the fight for the win will be between these two men with the victor whoever has the most tyre left towards the end.  Nobody else currently looks to have the pace to run with them in the dry
  • 1135 - 25 minutes remaining and current rankings are Bayliss, Toseland, Corser, Nieto, Lanzi, Biaggi. Martin 14th, Muggeridge 15th, Brookes 17th
  • 1132 - Biaggi the quickest man into turn one but losing time around the back of the circuit, currently sixth quickest and a full second behind Bayliss' best
  • 1131 - The Ten Kate bikes are fastest down the chute but all in all it looks very even top speed wise between the factory bikes
  • 1130 - Steve Martin has rolled to a stop around the back of the circuit with a technical problem.... A Ducati goes down.... It's Lanzi, up and okay but a nasty flick over the top at Lukey and lucky to get away with it
  • 1128 - Quicker again, 1m31.887 the mark now...
  • 1127 - Bayliss quickest now, a 31.998 and on another flyer, reckon his next lap will be quicker again...
  • 1120 - Most of the top runners are currently in the pits
  • 1116 - Rolfo quickest through the speed trap at 312km/h, Fabrizio 311, Toseland 310, Corser and Haga on 309, Xaus on 308 and on 307 we have Biaggi, Bayliss and Nieto
  • 1115 - With 45 minutes remaining in this session the order is Toseland, Bayliss, Corser, Nieto, Lanzi, Biaggi, Kagayama, Haga, Xaus, Neukirchner. Martin 13th, Muggas 14th, Brookesy 17th
  • 1111 - Toseland doing some serious smoking around turns 11 and 12.... Nice
  • 1108 - 51 minutes left in this session but there could be rain on the way... Apparently rain is falling in Geelong and is looking like making its way over to the island
  • 1100 - World Superbikers on track now, an hour long session to decide who makes the Superpole cut
  • 1051 - World Superbike Final Qualifying up next to decide who makes the cut for Superpole...
  • 1050 - World Supersport Free Practice 2 Results

  • 1044 - Flag is out to end the session so the riders on their last lap now... Curtain on top of the charts ahead of Charpentier, Foret, Sofuoglu, Parkes, Fujiwara, Nannelli, Checa, Tiberio and Roccoli. Wildcard Seaton is 27th, Greedy 33rd
  • 1038 - Kev just went 6-tenths quicker than his best lap thus far in the first two sectors but then rolled off for the remainder of that lap...
  • 1037 - Pictorial - Some pit lane images - Gallery B
  • 1029 - The Ducati 749R faster down the chute than some of the Superbikes!  288km/h to Nannelli
  • 1026 - Riders putting in plenty of laps in this session, doing long runs. Curtain put in a lot of consistent laps, Sofuoglu has been stringing some quick ones together also
  • 1015 - Half an hour left in this free practice session and it is Curtain and Parkes setting the pace ahead of Foret, Nannelli and Charpentier
  • 1000 - World Supersport men heading out of pitlane now for their morning practice session
  • 0951 - Yukio Kagayama remains in hospital in Melbourne with a punctured lung. He is fine and only there because of the need to have a drain in until his injury starts to heal. He is expected to be back on the bike within a fortnight. Supersport rider David Salom will be back on his bike today after that frightful highside onto the main straight yesterday
  • 0938 - World Supersport Free Practice up next at 10am
  • 0935 - Supersport / Superstock Race 1 Results

  7. Jones 17.2secs
  8. Johnson 17.2secs
  9. Maxwell 17.3secs
  10. Tomassetti 37.3secs

  • 0932 - Last lap now and O'Halloran is catching Staring.... They run down the straight and O'Halloran tries to slipstream for the on track win but Staring has it by a nose, 0.020 of a second in fact so the on track win to Staring but in the final wash up after penalties are applied I believe it will be O'Halloran, Stauffer, Crowe, Holland, Waters, Jones, Johnson, Maxwell, Tomassetti.  A new fastest lap of the race to O'Halloran on the final lap, a 36.886 to the young New South Wales rider. He obviously knows about the jump start penalty as he is making it clear to all the crowd that he is the winner and certainly savoring the moment
  • 0931 - Staring again fastest on the next lap, his lead half a second now, Jamie Stauffer still engaged in battle with teammate O'Halloran. Jeremy Crowe is in fourth place 2.7 seconds back with a gap over Holland and Waters then a long way back to Jones and Johnson
  • 0930 - Staring escaping now... Perhaps the Yamaha men have been informed that he has a jump start penalty and thus no point arguing over position with him, but maybe also that Staring is just out pacing them!  A 36.95 to the Pirelli shod Honda on that last lap to better both the Dunlop shod Yamaha men...
  • 0927 - Jamie around the outside of O'Halloran at Lukey to move up to second place... He is a couple of bike lengths behind Staring through turns 11 and 12 but O'Halloran comes back at him and Jamie is back to third in turn one... Still Bryan in front, backing his Honda in ludicrously sideways into turn four every lap, he doesn't want to give this one away... But I fear he will as I believe he has been given a jump start penalty, despite the fact that he was on pole and got a terrible start, I didn't see it but imagine he must have jumped and then stopped again but once jumped, your done
  • 0926 - A 36.943 to Jamie and he is right on the leading pair now, he reeled them in hand over fist on that last lap and it will only be a matter of time before he stamps his dominance.  Staring sideways one way and the other into turn four in his quest to hold the Yamaha men off but gathers it up and still in front... Jamie will pick his moment...
  • 0925 - Staring the quickest man on lap three with a 37.335... Jamie catching them on this lap though and this will certainly be a new fastest lap to Jamie when they cross the line this time around....
  • 0924 - Staring right on the pipe of O'Halloran through turns 11 and 12... Down the straight they go and the Yamaha looked to have the horsepower advantage but Staring was the bravest into turn one and took the inside line and with it the lead in the race. The WA youngster ran a little wide out of turn two but gathered it up and maintains the lead...
  • 0923 - Staring having a go now! He made second place his from fourth in the space of half a lap and it closing on O'Halloran.  Jamie the quickest man on the circuit though... A 38.032 to the champ on lap two and in fifth place.  Staring and O'Halloran swapping paint now
  • 0922 - Waters up to second place on the GSX-R and chasing O'Halloran. Staring in fourth and looking dangerous... And he is!  Staring takes third place from Crowe, Jamie Stauffer working his way up now, through on Holland
  • 0921 - Yamaha, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Honda the order at the moment with the main battle looking to unfold between Crowe and O'Halloran for the lead. Jamie Stauffer suffered a poor start but he is now on the back of the Honda men in sixth place and looking to make his move...
  • 0920 - And they are away, Staring failed to capitalise on his pole position and it is two Yamaha men that lead the field through turn one for the first time, Josh Waters right up there also on the Suzuki
  • 0919 - Supersport men forming up on the grid now in readiness for a race start
  • 0902 - Track inspection now and then Aussie Supersport / Superstockers up for their first race of the weekend
  • 0858 - Forgotten Era Race 1 Results
  1. Corpe
  2. Stack 0.015secs
  3. Loly 13.325secs

  • 0854 - Corpe gets the win with an awesome 1m45.940 on the final lap to beat Stack to the flag by 0.015 of a second, a great tussle between the two riders who were the class of the field in this bout.  Stuart Loly took third place a huge 13 seconds behind, that is a huge gulf in what was only a five lap race. The final lap between Corpe and Stack was a cracker with both men lapping considerably faster than they had all weekend, a 45.950 to Corpe and a 46.04 to Stack.  Be nice if Robbie could be in that mix later in the day if he can get his Suzuki back up and running
  • 0852 - Another 46 from Ralph Stack to go into the lead, a 46.921 to the Suzuki man as he continues to enjoy a close tussle with the Kawasaki mounted Karl Corpe
  • 0850 - The leading duo already have more than five seconds on Loly who in turn has 8 seconds over Jason Patterson so the field really starting to spread out. It looks as though the Phillis crew failed to get their machine up and running for this opening bout but hopefully they can get Robbie on track this afternoon
  • 0849 - Corpe and Stack still going hammer and tong up front, Stack just dipped into the 46s with a 1m46.946, the fastest lap of the weekend thus far for these Forgotten Era machines.
  • 0846 - Okay up and running again in this first race of the weekend and it is Karl Corpe the early leader from Ralph Stack and the pair quickly pulling away from Stuart Loly. This trio already out on their own and pulling away hand over fist from fourth placed Jason Patterson
  • 0837 - The race has been reduced to five laps and they will get another warm up lap before things kick off again
  • 0832 - No sooner had the race got underway before the red flag came out for an incident
  • 0828 - Quite a few of the Historic bikes experienced some problems yesterday including one of the favourites. Some valves kissed the pistons in Robbie Phillis' machine which has seen the crew working furiously in an effort to rebuild the engine and very shortly we will find out how they went with that mission...
  • 0825 - Team Reports from day one - Ducati - FG Sport - Honda - Kawasaki - Suzuki - Yamaha - The Australian Historics / Forgotten Era Race One is up scheduled to kick off at 0830 so action underway very shortly here at Phillip Island on this fine and sunny morning
