World Superbike 2008 - Round Two - Phillip Island Day 3 Report - Kawasaki Today, Sunday 2 March at Phillip Island’ circuit in Australia, the 2nd round of the World Superbike Championship 2008 took place. Both Kawasaki’s riders had to retire, Regis because of electrical problems and Makoto because of a bad feeling with the rear of the bike. Anyway Makoto Tamada gives some points to the team with his 14th position in race 2. Regis Laconi made a mistake at the start loosing positions and ending in 17th position. REGIS LACONI: “ It hasn’t gone as I expected! In race 1 after 6 laps from the start, a cylinder stopped working and the bike too. In race 2 we used the second bike with the same set up of the first one ‘cause I liked it. Unfortunately I did a mistake at the start and I lost time and positions. It’ s a pity ‘cause I have reached a good feeling with the rear. We’ll work hard during these coming test in Valencia to be ready for the first European race of the season”. MAKOTO TAMADA: “ We still have chattering problems and this is not good for my ride style, I ‘m used to control bends with the rear and chattering doesn’t help at all. I know I can give a lot to this team which is working hard. We will focus on taking advantage of the power of the ZX-10R during next test in Valencia”. |
