Report Sunstate Racings’ Judd Greedy Moves to Fourth in the Championship After Round 2 in Adelaide Round Two at Mallala has seen yet another solid performance from Sunstate Racings Judd Greedy finishing fifth in both races and moving up the leader board to fourth Overall in the Championship standings. Fridays practice didn’t go entirely to plan with Judd crashing out of the second timed session and due to damage sustained in the crash was forced to watch the remainder of the session from the pits. First qualifying on Saturday wasn’t without its share of dramas either with a mechanical issue causing Judd to have to ride his spare bike to endeavour to get a decent qualifying position. ‘ My spare bike is good but we still don’t have the same suspension parts that we have for my race bike so I had to just give it a crack and see where I ended up’, said Judd who ended the session in seventh. In the second session Judd was able to better his time by over half a second but that was only good enough to move up to sixth spot on the grid for the two races on Sunday. In Race One Judd got off the line fairly well and was able to jump on the back of the four Factory boys in front but couldn’t quite match the pace and had to settle for fifth. Race Two Judd got another good start and jumped onto the back of the Factory Honda but after a few small changes to the bike from the first race, was able to match the pace of the other Honda, but wasn’t able to find a way past Wayne finishing fifth again but in doing so not only set the third fastest time for that race but bettered his overall Race One time by over seven seconds. ‘ That second race was really tough and I could see Jamie about a second ahead of Wayne and for a while I thought I might be able to catch both of them, but full credit to those guys too they rode real hard out there today and it’s a fairly hard track to pass and Wayne just didn’t make any mistakes, I would have had to take a big risk to get past and Wayne is always good on the brakes and I know I have to finish every race if I want to be up there at the end of the year so had to settle for fifth. Tim Durie was flying the flag in the Superstock class with this round being one of the first with an additional practice day being held on the Thursday prior to the round, with Tim setting some good times on the Sunstate racing machine. Qualifying was one of the most interesting sessions of the year with a dog fight battle for pole position between Tim and the local rider from South Australia Adam Christie who unfortunately come out on top of the time sheets but both riders were well under the previous lap record. Race One was held late in the afternoon on Saturday because of the large amount of crashes through out the day. With a start from second place on the grid Tim was fourth into the first corner and was in hot pursuit of the leader, making a pass down the start finish straight he found himself in distant third position. Although slowly chipping away at the leader’s times he was unable to close the gap in the short nine lap race and finished in third position. Race Two started off a lot better than the previous race, with Tim managing to hold his grid position around the first lap but with the local Adam Christie in the lead Tim was not going to let him slip away out of his sights. Unfortunately it all come to a grinding holt in the top hairpin turn where Tim lost the front end trying to make up to much time to quickly on the leader. Race Three it was all but over with Tim getting the holeshot from a brilliant start. As the field came round for the first lap it was noticeable that was having front end problems, and he was slowly loosing his pace. Trying to hold his position he was delegated back to fifth position. ‘After my crash in race 2 I was finding it hard to get the confidence in the front end, but just had to make myself last the 9 laps and finish. In the end we had a good weekend and the guys in the Sunstate racing team put in a huge effort to get me back on the track for the last race.’ Tim said.
