- 1703 - They run to the line... Jamie through under Giles
again at 12, Gilesy in behind, Jamie expecting Shawn to go
to the inside line but Shawn switches to the outside and
takes the win by 0.011 of a second... That time around
Suzuki on top... Jamie the pacesetter though with that 33.37
though, Shawn's best was a 33.70.... The key to that
result the incredible launch off the line that Shawn manages
thanks to the stomping low down grunt of the Suzuki
- 1702 - The previous race saw Jamie slip under Shawn at
turn 12 for the run to the line... Will that happen again...
O'Halloran ahead of Dan Stauffer now but that battle also
not done yet... Half a lap to run...
- 1701 - They get the last lap board now... Jamie Stauffer
right on Gilesy now after putting in a 33.37...
- 1700 - Gilesy maintaing his lead at just under half a
second as again him and Jamie break away from the field.
Both men destroyed their rear Dunlops this morning in six
laps with Jamie's rear I believe actually worse at race end
than Shawn's. The riders have three tyres this weekend to do
the four races...
- 1658 - Jamie has the gap down to under half a second now
with a cracking 33.49 on the Production Superbike
specification machine, many levels down from the World
Superbike specification machinery being ridden in the main
act here this weekend.
- 1657 - A 33.8 from Giles on lap two but Jamie quicker
with a 33.75 and Dan also on the pace with a 33.79, Gilesy
still heads the Yamaha men by 7-tenths though. The Stauffer
brothers gapping Coxhell though and the Shepparton rider
getting plenty of attention now from O'Halloran...
- 1656 - Track temp approaching 40c this afternoon. Gilesy
crosses the stripe with a 39.41 from a standing start to
lead Jamie and Dan Stauffer by 8-tenths at the end of lap
one. Coxhell hot on the heels of the two Yamaha men then it
is O'Halloran and Allerton on the Hondas followed by Johnson
on the Kawasaki and Waters on the third Suzuki..
- 1655 - Aussie Superbikes away now and Gilesy gets the
holeshot and gapped his pursuers through the first few
corners.
